A test of lepton universality between muons and electrons is performed using B + → K + ℓ + ℓ − decays (where ℓ = e, μ), in the dilepton invariant-mass-squared region above 14.3 GeV2 /c 4. The data used for the measurement consists of beauty meson decays pr ...

Utilizing a dataset of 6.7 fb(-1) from electron-positron collisions recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, a search is conducted for the processes e(+)e(-) -> phi chi(c0) and phi eta(c2)(1D) across centerof-mass energies from 4.47 to 4 ...

Electric dipole moments (EDM) of fundamental particles inherently violate time-reversal (T) and the combined charge-conjugation and parity symmetry (CP). We aim to measure the EDM of the muon using the frozen-spin technique within a compact storage trap. T ...

Using 7.9fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected at root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the massless dark photon with the flavor-changing neutral current processes D-0 -> omega gamma' and D-0 -> gamma gamma ...

The strange quark content of the proton is probed through the measurement of the production cross section for a W boson and a charm (c) quark in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The analysis uses a data sample corresponding to ...

Using a dataset corresponding to 9 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018 in proton-proton collisions, the decay-time distributions of the decay modes Bs 0→J/ψη′ and Bs 0→J/ψπ+π− are studied. The decay-width di ...

A measurement of the jet mass distribution in hadronic decays of Lorentz-boosted top quarks is presented. The measurement is performed in the lepton + jets channel of top quark pair production (t (t) over bar) events, where the lepton is an electron or muo ...

A search for pair production of the supersymmetric partner of the top quark, the top squark, in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13TeV is presented in final states containing at least one hadronically decaying tau lepton and large missing transverse mo ...

Particles beyond the Standard Model (SM) can generically have lifetimes that are long compared to SM particles at the weak scale. When produced at experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, these long-lived particles (LLPs) can decay far ...

This thesis presents the results of a time-dependent analysis of

B^0\to D^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}

decays using

3~\rm fb^{-1}

of proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at CERN's Large Hadron Collider during Run 1 with a centre-of-mass ener ...

The appealing feature of inverse seesaw models is that the Standard Model (SM) neutrino mass emerges from the exchange of TeV scale singlets with sizable Yukawa couplings, which can be tested at colliders. However, the tiny Majorana mass splitting between ...

We report a measurement of the branching fraction of B+ -> tau(+) nu(tau) decays using a data sample of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We rec ...

A search is performed for the as yet unobserved baryonic Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda eta' and Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda eta decays with 3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment. The B-0 -> K-s(0)eta' decay is used as a normalisation ...

A first study of CP violation in the decay modes B-+/- -> (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+)h(+/-) and B-+/- -> (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+)h(+/-), where h labels a K or pi meson and D labels a D-0 or (D) over bar (0) meson, is performed. The analysis uses the LHCb ...

Interpretation of CP violation measurements using charmonium decays, in both the (B) over bar (0) and (B) over bar (0)(s) systems, can be subject to changes due to "penguin" type diagrams. These effects can be investigated using measurements of the Cabibbo ...

A search for the doubly charmed baryon Xi(+)(cc) in the decay mode Xi(+)(cc) -> Lambda(+)(c) K-pi(+) is performed with a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.65 fb(-1), of p p collisions recorded at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV. N ...

The hierarchy problem and the electroweak data, together, provide a plausible motivation for considering a light Higgs emerging as a pseudo-Goldstone boson from a strongly-coupled sector. In that scenario, the rates for Higgs production and decay di ff er ...

The inclusive production of Ds, D0, and J/ψ mesons is studied using a 1.86fb-1 data sample collected on the Υ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The number of bb̄ events in this Υ(5S) data sample is determine ...

We have measured the branching fraction B, longitudinal polarization fraction fL, and CP asymmetry coefficients A and S for B0→ρ+ρ- decays with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider using 253fb-1 of data. We obtain B=[22.8±3.8(stat)-2.6+2.3(syst)]×1 ...
