Megapixel single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) arrays have been developed recently, opening up the possibility of deploying SPADs as general-purpose passive cameras for photography and computer vision. However, most previous work on SPADs has been limited ...

Objective: To image healthy retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells in vivo using Transscleral OPtical Imaging (TOPI) and to analyze statistics of RPE cell features as a function of age, axial length (AL), and eccentricity. Design: Single-center, explorator ...

The invention relates to oblique transscleral illumination of an eye fundus with at least one physical point light source around the eye allowing for dark field imaging combined with optical coherence tomography imaging. ...

We designed and tested a device to stimulate specifically one photoreceptor type, or a combination of some of them, of the human eye by using up to six primaries. The device produces a homogeneous light field over 40 degrees which is projected onto the ret ...

Purpose: To report multimodal imaging findings including optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) of a patient presenting with a quiescent choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in one eye and an active CNV in the fellow eye, complicating retinitis pig ...

Purpose : Based on oblique partially coherent illumination of transparent samples, we developed a simple custom Optical Phase Imaging (OPI) microscope providing a label-free, semi-quantitative phase contrast imaging. The aim of this study was to explore th ...

Background: Basal ganglia lesions are typical findings on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain in survivors of acute methanol poisoning. However, no data are available on the association between the magnitude of damaged brain regions, serum concen ...

Purpose: To report the outcome and complications of a combined surgical technique of modified deep sclerectomy and trabeculectomy (mDST) for glaucoma. Patients and Methods: Retrospective study of 44 eyes of 43 patients with open and closed angle glaucoma w ...

Eye motion is a major confound for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in neuroscience or ophthalmology. Currently, solutions toward eye stabilisation include participants fixating or administration of paralytics/anaesthetics. We developed a novel MRI protoco ...

Near infrared optical tomography (NIROT) is an emerging modality that enables imaging the oxygenation of tissue, which is a biomarker of tremendous clinical relevance. Measuring in reflectance is usually required when NIROT is applied in clinical scenarios ...

Imaging in the near-infrared (NIR) is getting increasingly important for applications such as machine vision or medical imaging. NIR-to-visible optical upconverters consist of a monolithic stack of a NIR photodetector and a visible light-emitting unit. Suc ...

The development of near-infrared (NIR) photodetection technologies is driven by emerging applications such as medical imaging or optical sensors for electronic displays and machine vision. An all-organic upconverter (OUD) is a device that converts incident ...

The current LHCb detector will continue collecting data until the long shutdown 2 (2019/2020). It will be upgraded in order to operate at higher luminosity. To achieve this, two major changes are required. First the Level-0 hardware trigger limited to 1,M ...

Retinal imaging is routinely used to provide information about vision health. Recent studies showed that retinal images can also provide information on general health (e.g. stress level), brain pathologies and attention. Depending on the target information ...

A method for imaging a tissue of an eye, the method including the steps of providing oblique illumination to the eye by a plurality of light emitting areas of a light delivery device, the plurality of light emitting areas being independently controllable a ...

PurposeTo evaluate the relationship between the peripapillary metabolic alterations [retinal vessel Oximetry (RO)] and the structural findings [retinal vessel diameter and retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (RNFL)] in patients with inherited retinal dystr ...

With the miniaturization of scanning mirrors and the emergence of wearable health monitoring, an intriguing step is to investigate the potential of a laser scanning ophthalmoscope (LSO) for retinal imaging with wearable glasses. In addition to providing mo ...

A system for subpixel resolution imaging of an amplitude and quantitative phase image, the system including a waveguide having a top plane, a bottom plane, and two sides, an array of light sources emitting first befit beams from one side of the two sides o ...

Mono- and bi-allelic mutations in the low-density lipoprotein receptor related protein 5 (LRP5) may cause osteopetrosis, autosomal dominant and recessive exudative vitreoretinopathy, juvenile osteoporosis, or persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV) ...

Ophthalmologists typically acquire different image modalities to diagnose eye pathologies. They comprise, e.g., Fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Yet, these images are often complem ...
