Using 7.93 fb-1 of e+e- collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we present an analysis of the decay D0→ηπ-e+νe. The branching fraction of the decay D0→a0(980)-e+νe with a0(980)-→ηπ- is measured to be (0.86 ...

A large variety of new physics models suggest that the rates for lepton flavour violating

-hadron decays may be much higher than predicted in the Standard Model, which leads to a high interest in the search for such decays. This thesis presents the se ...

Entanglement is an intrinsic property of quantum mechanics and is predicted to be exhibited in the particles produced at the Large Hadron Collider. A measurement of the extent of entanglement in top quark-antiquark (t (t) over bar) events produced in proto ...

The polarization of tau leptons is measured using leptonic and hadronic tau lepton decays in Z -> tau(+)tau(-) events in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV recorded by CMS at the CERN LHC with an integrated luminosity of 36.3 fb(-1). The measured ...

Measurements of the elliptic (v(2)) and triangular (v(3)) azimuthal anisotropy coefficients are presented for D-0 mesons produced in b hadron decays (nonprompt D-0 mesons) in lead-lead collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV. The results are compared with prev ...

Two -particle Bose-Einstein momentum correlation functions are studied for charged-hadron pairs in lead -lead collisions at a center -of -mass energy per nucleon pair of .'/sNN = 5.02 TeV. The data sample, containing 4.27 x 109 minimum bias events correspo ...

The measurement of Z boson production is presented as a method to determine the integrated luminosity of CMS data sets. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data, recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2017 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 ...

The first search for scalar leptoquarks produced in z-lepton-quark collisions is presented. It is based on a set of proton-proton collision data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated l ...

Charge separation processes in organic semiconductors play a pivotal role in diverse applications ranging from photovoltaics to photocatalysis. Understanding these mechanisms, particularly the role of hybrid charge-transfer (CT) states, is essential for ad ...

The hydrodynamic flow-like behavior of charged hadrons in high-energy lead-lead collisions is studied through multiparticle correlations. The elliptic anisotropy values based on different orders of multiparticle cumulants, v(2){2k}, are measured up to the ...

A measurement of the Higgs boson (H) production via vector boson fusion (VBF) and its decay into a bottom quark-antiquark pair (b (b) over bar) is presented using proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at root s = 13TeV and correspondi ...

The branching fraction of the rare decay Lambda(0 )(b)-> Lambda(1520)mu(+)mu(-) is measured for the first time, in the squared dimuon mass intervals q(2), excluding the J/psi and psi(2S) regions. The data sample analyzed was collected by the LHCb experimen ...

A search for the direct production of a pair of T sleptons, the supersymmetric partners of T leptons, is presented. Each T slepton is assumed to decay to a T lepton and the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), which is assumed to be stable and to not in ...

A search for the rare eta -> mu(+)mu(-)mu(+)mu(-) double-Dalitz decay is performed using a sample of proton-proton collisions, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC with high-rate muon triggers during 2017 and 2018 and corresponding to an integra ...

The charge-parity (CP) structure of the Yukawa interaction between the Higgs (H) boson and the top quark is measured in a data sample enriched in the t (t) over bar H and tH associated production, using 138 fb(-1) of data collected in proton-proton collisi ...

This PhD thesis aims at testing one of the fundamental properties of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics: the lepton flavour universality (LFU), which states that

W

and

Z

bosons are equally coupled to the three lepton generations. In this work, ...

Results are presented from a search for CP violation in top quark pair production, using proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The data used for this analysis consist of final states with two charged leptons collected by the CMS exp ...

The tension between different determinations of the CKM matrix element Vub using measurements of either exclusive or inclusive semileptonic decays represents a long-standing puzzle in flavour physics. To resolve this, measurements of new exclusive channels ...

A search for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson (H) produced with transverse momentum (p(T)) greater than 450 GeV and decaying to a charm quark-antiquark (c (c) over bar) pair is presented. The search is performed using proton-proton collision data collec ...
