A search for CP violation in Lambda(0)(b) -> pK(-) and Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) decays is presented using the full Run 1 and Run 2 data samples of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) at cente ...

A search is presented for the decay of the 125 GeV Higgs boson (H) to a pair of new light pseudoscalar bosons (a), followed by the prompt decay of each a boson to a bottom quark-antiquark pair, H -> aa -> b (b) over barb (b) over bar. The analysis is perfo ...

A search for the rare hadronic decay B0s→p¯p is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb−1. No evidence of the decay is found and a ...

A detailed investigation of Ba2MnGe2O7 was performed in its low-temperature magnetoelectric state combining neutron diffraction with magnetization measurements on single crystals. In the paramagnetic state at 10 K, polarized neutron diffraction was applied ...

The engineering design of the CFETR TF prototype coil and conductors has been completed. The wind-package (WP) of the coil is graded into three regions based on the magnetic field distribution for saving cost. High-Jc Nb3Sn strand, ITER-like Nb3Sn strand a ...

The nuclear modification factor of neutral pions is measured in proton-lead collisions collected at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon of 8.16 TeV with the LHCb detector. The π0 production cross section is measured differentially in transverse momentum (p ...

Low magnetic damping and high group velocity of spin waves (SWs) or magnons are two crucial parameters for functional magnonic devices. Magnonics research on signal processing and wave-based computation at GHz frequencies focused on the artificial ferrimag ...

Heteroatom-doped polyaromatic hydrocarbons (or nanographenes) are promising molecular electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Here, we use density functional theory to investigate the first step of the ORR pathway (chemisorption) for a se ...

K-EUSO (KLYPVE-EUSO) is a planned orbital mission aimed at studying ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) by detecting fluorescence and Cherenkov light emitted by extensive air showers in the nocturnal atmosphere of Earth in the ultraviolet (UV) range. Th ...

Magnetic fields occupying the voids of the large scale structure may be a relic from the Early Universe originating from either Inflation or from cosmological phase transitions. We explore the possibility of identifying the inflationary origin of the void ...

Magnetic manipulation is a method used for biomedical applications to remotely control micro-robots in a contactless manner. The electromagnet manipulator should control a magnetic field with 3 degrees of freedom inside a region of interest. In various cas ...

Thermonuclear fusion of light atoms is the primary energy source of stars, such as our Sun, that led to the emergence of life on Earth. However, its economic exploitation as a virtually unlimited and clean energy source is yet to be developed. One of the m ...

Nitrogen doped multi-walled carbon nanotubes and other carbon nanoparticles were synthesized by catalytic chemical vapor deposition of tripropylamine and acetylene on CaCO3-supported cobalt catalyst (5 wt%), prepared by impregnation, and various precursors ...

The vacuum discharge along the dielectric surface, also called surface flashover, brings significant damages to the vacuum-solid insulation system. Here we implement shape-flexible, complex surface groove microstructures on the dielectric to mitigate the i ...

We study a phenomenological class of models where dark matter converts to dark radiation in the low redshift epoch. This class of models, dubbed DMDR, characterizes the evolution of comoving dark-matter density with two extra parameters, and may be able to ...

A Nb3Sn based, React&Wind flat cable, named RW2, was developed in the past three years at the Swiss Plasma Center in the scope of the EUROfusion conceptual studies for DEMO. The test results presented earlier proved an excellent DC performance, but large e ...

We demonstrate the cavity quantum electrodynamics towards strong- coupling regime mediated by cavity loss and exciton pure dephasing in singular site-controlled quantum dotnanocavity system, studied by micro-photoluminescence (mu-PL) and time- resolved PL ...

Viral infections caused by bacteriophages, i.e., viruses that kill bacteria are one of the most dangerous and common threats for bacteria-based bioreactors. More than 70% of biotechnology companies have admitted to encountering this problem. Despite phage ...

A precision measurement of the B-c(+) meson mass is performed using proton- proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9.0 fb(-1). The B-c(+) mes ...
