Collective exposition "I LOVE CHALETS" curated by Nicole McIntosh and Jonathan Louie at Zentrum Architektur Zürich Museum BELLERIVE from 18.01.2025 to 18.05.2025 Twenty-four panels composed by Nicola Braghieri make up a polyptych celebrating the Alpine culture through the different seasons of its civilisation. The polyptych is to be read as a panoramic cycle in which the elements of nature and the works of humans stage a drama in three acts: conquest, resistance and abandonment. The fourth act, recolonisation, is not represented and left to the viewer’s imagination. This Capriccio Alpino expresses and syncretizes in a picturesque manner, the multifaceted character of the Alpine imaginary. Actors in this representation are naturally the mountains, forests, meadows, railways, hydroelectric infrastructures and, of course, human constructions. Among the latter hides the silent, ubiquitous and ever-beloved, Alpine house, tenderly known as the "chalet".
