Abstract

We demonstrate an electro-optically tunable hybrid integrated laser self-injection locked to a mode of a heterogeneously integrated lithium-niobate-on-Damascene-silicon-nitride microresonator. An intrinsic linewidth of 3 kHz and a frequency tuning rate of 12 x 10(15) Hz/s were observed. Proof-of-principle coherent LiDAR experiments were performed. (c) 2022 The Author(s)

Frequency synthesizer

A frequency synthesizer is an electronic circuit that generates a range of frequencies from a single reference frequency. Frequency synthesizers are used in many modern devices such as radio receivers, televisions, mobile telephones, radiotelephones, walkie-talkies, CB radios, cable television converter boxes, satellite receivers, and GPS systems.
