Simulating Heat Transition Scenarios Using Agent-Based Modeling Simulation / Simulation von Wärmewendeszenarien mittels agentbasierter Modellierung

Abstract

This paper introduces a spatially explicit agent-based modeling (ABM) approach to simulate regional heating and energy transition scenarios. The model uniquely integrates spatial energy system data with empirically grounded behavioral data to analyze the impact of technical parameter variations and public policies on energy renovation decisions. This comprehensive approach enables the assessment of key energy figures over the simulation period, including heating energy demand and CO2 emissions. Serving as a decision-support tool for diverse stakeholders, the ABM, combined with an interactive WebGIS demonstrator, facilitates the design of effective decarbonization strategies for the built environment.
