Camille Véronique Bernadette GoemansCamille's research focuses on understanding how antibiotics and non-antibiotic drugs affect the diverse bacteria from the human gut microbiota and how they contribute to dysbiosis and the development of antibiotic resistance. To achieve this goal, she combines systems approaches with molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics and biochemistry. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biomedical Sciences from the UCLouvain, Belgium, after which she completed her PhD (FRIA national fellowship) at th

I began my doctoral studies in 2023, focusing on fundamental theoretical physics. My research interests include quantum gravity, cosmology, and quantum field theory. Currently, I am investigating the interactions of quantum fields and gravitational fluctuations during the inflationary epoch of the early universe. Additionally, I am exploring the role of wormholes in quantum gravity and their impact on entropy, especially in de Sitter spacetime.

- Operando Water and Ion Transport: I pioneered operando high-energy X-ray scattering and fluorescence (WAXS/SAXS/XRF) to directly visualize water and ion transport in membrane–electrode assemblies. These studies revealed how water movement, flooding, and salt formation govern degradation in CO/CO2 electrolysis, establishing the dynamic transport mechanisms in confined electrochemical environments. Jessica Berit VerheijI am a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Landscape Development (LAND). My research focuses on spatial conflicts in growing cities, mainly in relation to urban greening and densification. I am interested in understanding the political processes behind the implementation of sustainability goals and the role of planning and property in urban development.I hold a PhD degree in Geography from the University of Bern. In my PhD research, I analysed how cities can combine urban greening with densificatio

Our lab seeks to transform the way we produce and consume energy as a society, by exploiting the exceptional properties of emerging soft semiconductors. For this, we explore the concept of symmetry breaking in novel soft semiconductors and nanomaterials to control charge, spin and light with these printable materials. We work on uncovering the design rules to enable the next generation of cheap and flexible solar cells & ultra-bright displays, and unlock entirely new applications in quantum informati
