Background: Changes in dynamic cerebral autoregulation (DCA) may contribute to postpartum maternal cerebrovascular complications after preeclampsia. We hypothesized that DCA is impaired in the first week postpartum after diagnosis of preeclampsia with seve ...

A novel surrogate model based on the Grassmannian diffusion maps (GDMaps) and utilizing geometric harmonics (GH) is developed for predicting the response of complex physical phenomena. The method utilizes GDMaps to obtain a low-dimensional representation o ...

In this work we introduce a manifold learning-based method for uncertainty quantification (UQ) in systems describing complex spatiotemporal processes. Our first objective is to identify the embedding of a set of high-dimensional data representing quantitie ...

Recent advancements in deep learning have found compelling applications in the image-based inspection of infrastructure systems. However, the efficacy of these models hinges significantly on the quality and diversity of the input data used for training. In ...

A methodology based on compressive sampling is developed for incomplete wind time-histories reconstruction and extrapolation in a single spatial dimension, as well as for related stochastic field statistics estimation. This relies on l1-norm minimization i ...

While understanding the shear strength of stone masonry structures is important for the design and the mainte- nance, we still lack computational tools for predicting the strength as a function of the stone layout. Here we implement an end-to-end image bas ...

The construction of dry-joint brick masonry that is subject to seismic loading can be modelled as a strategy problem wherein bricks must be laid to form a load resisting structure. To learn how to mount bricks while considering relevant engineering criteri ...

This paper introduces an innovative strategy for the construction of multi-leaf walls utilizing raw stones, a significant step forward in sustainable building practices. Our approach leverages advanced computational algorithms and image processing techniqu ...
