We present the first direct search for exotic Higgs boson decays H -> AA, A -> gamma gamma in events with two photonlike objects. The hypothetical particle A is a low-mass spin-0 particle decaying promptly to a merged diphoton reconstructed as a single pho ...

A measurement of the top quark pole mass m(t)(pole) in events where a top quarkantiquark pair (t (t) over bar) is produced in association with at least one additional jet ( t (t) over bar +jet) is presented. This analysis is performed using proton-proton c ...

A search is presented for the pair production of new heavy resonances, each decaying into a top quark (t) or antiquark and a gluon (g). The analysis uses data recorded with the CMS detector from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV ...

The first study of the shapes of jets arising from bottom (b) quarks in heavy ion collisions is presented. Jet shapes are studied using charged hadron constituents as a function of their radial distance from the jet axis. Lead-lead (PbPb) collision data at ...

We present an observation of photon-photon production of τ lepton pairs in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions. The measurement is based on a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 404 μb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energ ...

A search is described for the production of a pair of bottom-type vectorlike quarks (B VLQs) with mass greater than 1000 GeV. Each B VLQ decays into a b quark and a Higgs boson, a b quark and a Z boson, or a t quark and a W boson. This analysis considers b ...

A measurement of the dijet production cross section is reported based on proton–proton collision data collected in 2016 at s=13TeV by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 36.3fb-1. Jets are reconstructed wi ...

A generic search is presented for the associated production of a Z boson or a photon with an additional unspecified massive particle X, pp -> pp + Z/gamma + X, in proton-tagged events from proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV, recorded in 2017 with ...

Differential cross sections are measured for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with vector bosons (W, Z) and decaying to a pair of b quarks. Measurements are performed within the framework of the simplified template cross sections. The ...

A search is performed for exclusive high-mass gamma gamma -> WW and gamma gamma -> ZZ production in proton-proton collisions using intact forward protons reconstructed in near-beam detectors, with both weak bosons decaying into boosted and merged jets. The ...

A search is presented for physics beyond the standard model (SM) using electron or muon pairs with high invariant mass. A data set of proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at root s = 13 TeV from 2016 to 2018 corresponding to ...

The first search exploiting the vector boson fusion process to probe heavy Majorana neutrinos and the Weinberg operator at the LHC is presented. The search is performed in the same-sign dimuon final state using a proton-proton collision dataset recorded at ...

We report the observation of neutrino interactions without final state muons at the LHC, with a significance of 6.4σ. A dataset of proton-proton collisions at s=13.6 TeV collected by SND@LHC in 2022 and 2023 is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosi ...

A search for the production of pairs of heavy Majorana neutrinos (Nℓ) from the decays of Z' bosons is performed using the CMS detector at the LHC. The data were collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV, with an integr ...

A search for heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) decaying in the CMS muon system is presented. A data sample is used corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV, recorded at the CERN LHC in 2016-2018. Dec ...

A fiducial cross section for W gamma production in proton-proton collisions is measured at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 137 fb(-1) of data collected using the CMS detector at the LHC. The W -> e nu and mu nu decay modes are used in a maximum-likeli ...

The jet axis decorrelation in inclusive jets is studied using lead-lead (PbPb) collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5.02 TeV. The jet axis decorrelation is defined as the angular difference between two definitions of the jet axis. It i ...

A search for the central exclusive production of top quark-antiquark pairs (t (t) over bar) is performed for the first time using proton-tagged events in proton-proton collisions at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The data correspond to an int ...

The mass of the top quark is measured in 36.3 fb(-1) of LHC proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at root s = 13 TeV. The measurement uses a sample of top quark pair candidate events containing one isolated electron or muon and at le ...

A measurement of the cross section of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson in final states with a muon or electron and jets in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosit ...
