The orthogonal structure of the widely used hole transporting material (HTM) 2,2 ',7,7 '-tetrakis(N, N-di-p-methoxyphenylamino)-9,9 '-spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD) imparts isotropic conductivity and excellent film-forming capability. However, inherently w ...

Currently, the full potential of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is limited by chargecarrier recombination owing to imperfect passivation methods. Here, the recombination loss mechanisms owing to the interfacial energy offset and defects are quantified. The ...

The top surface of the perovskite layer and the interface with the electron transporting layer play a key role in influencing the performance and operational stability of inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs). A deficient or ineffective surface passivatio ...

Besides further improvement in the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of perovskite solar cells (PSC), their long-term stability must also be ensured. Additives such as organic cations with halide counter anions are considered promising candidates to addres ...

Suppression of energy disorders in the vertical direction of a photovoltaic device, along which charge carriers are forced to travel, has been extensively studied to reduce unproductive charge recombination and thus achieve high-efficiency perovskite solar ...

Inorganic perovskite solar cells could benefit from surface passivation using 2D/3D perovskite heterostructures. However, conventional spacer cations fail to exchange with the tightly bonded Cs cation in the inorganic perovskite to form 2D layers atop; or, ...

Interface engineering has proven to be an effective approach for passivating interfacial imperfections to mitigate non-radiative recombination, but the subpar interface quality between the perovskite and the charge transport layer has hindered advancements ...

The emergence of metal halide perovskite materials has triggered a revolutionary change in optoelectronic devices. Due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties and defect tolerance, metal halide perovskites can be used for a wide range of application ...

Dopant-free hole transporting materials (HTMs) is significant to the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, we developed a novel star-shape arylamine HTM, termed Py-DB, with a pyrene core and carbon-carbon double bonds as the bridge units. Compa ...

Inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) suffer from serious carrier recombination and open-circuit voltage loss because of surface defects and unfavorable energy level alignment. Herein, a polylactic acid (PLA) modification approach to improve the performa ...

The integration of thin 2D perovskite layers at the 3D PVK/HTL interface is known to improve the power conversion efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this work, we report a novel approach consisting of mixing two alkyl-based catio ...

Perovskite solar cells have seen impressive progress in performance and stability, yet maintaining efficiency while scaling area remains a challenge. Here we find that additives commonly used to passivate large-area perovskite films often co-precipitate du ...

Hole transport materials (HTMs) are a key component of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The small molecular 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl)-amine-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD, termed "Spiro") is the most successful HTM used in PSCs, but its ...

The fabrication process of triple-cation-halide organic inorganic perovskites must be tightly controlled to make high-efficiency solar cells. After precursor deposition, the amount of oxygen and moisture during the annealing process is important but not al ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown promising progress in efficiency and stability, but their application needs further development from small-area cells to large-area modules. When fabricating solar cell modules on large-area substrates, it takes a l ...

Hybrid perovskites have attracted enormous attention in the next generation resistive switching (RS) memristor for the artificial synapses, owing to their ambipolar charge transport, long diffusion length, and tunable visible bandgap. However, the variable ...

Although the power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has reached 25.7%, there is still great potential for improvement in their performance and stability. In the past few years, ionic liquids (ILs) have been extensively investigated an ...

Compositional engineering of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite allows for improved optoelectrical properties, however, phase segregation occurs during crystal nucleation and limits perovskite solar cell device performance. Herein, we show that by a ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are among the most promising photovoltaic technologies owing to their exceptional optoelectronic properties 1,2 . However, the lower efficiency, poor stability and reproducibility issues of large-area PSCs compared with labora ...

Flexible perovskite solar cells (F-PSCs) are highly promising for both stationary and mobile applications because of their advantageous features, including mechanical flexibility, their lightweight and thin nature, and cost-effectiveness. However, a number ...
