Rechargeable sodium (Na) metal batteries (SMBs) provide an alternative energy-dense, low-cost energy storage system beyond prevailing Li-ion technologies. However, their practical deployment requires the performance evaluation of Na anodes on the device le ...

The technological barriers of the dimensional engineering and interfacial instability seriously hinder the scalable production of metallic (1T) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) monolayers. In this article, a facile and fast electron injection strateg ...

The practical deployment of metallic anodes in the energy-dense batteries is impeded by the thermodynamically unstable interphase in contact with the aprotic electrolyte, structural collapse of the substrates as well as their insufficient affinity toward t ...

Graphene/cotton fibers show significant promise in wearable energy storage due to their low cost, porous structure, and exceptional integration ability into wearable systems. However, the eco-unfriendly reductants and standalone electric double-layer capac ...

In this paper we present the Open Software Services for Classrooms and Research (OSSCAR) platform. OSSCAR provides an open collaborative environment to develop and access educational resources in the form of web applications, for which various deployment m ...

Interactive notebooks are a precious tool for creating graphical user interfaces and teaching materials. Python and Jupyter are becoming increasingly popular in this context, with Jupyter widgets at the core of the interactive functionalities. However, whi ...

The dynamically unstable interfacial properties and the low Li-utilization degree hinder the practical use of metallic lithium anodes in energy-dense battery construction with limited cation sources (lean electrolyte in the anode-free/anode-less model). He ...

Cotton fibers, a natural cellulose, have played a critical role in the development of wearable energy storage, owning to their wearability, integrability, eco-benignity, and cost effectiveness. Graphene, a two-dimensional carbon material, possesses excelle ...

The practical exploitation of the high-capacity Si anodes suffers from the insufficient cation utilization degree in the energy-dense batteries, which originates from unstable interfacial dynamics, lithiation-induced mechanical stress, and irreversible Li ...

Metal-organic framework (MOF) is an exciting class of porous biomaterials that have been considered as a carrier to store and deliver therapeutic drugs. However, similar to other nanomaterials, the application of MOF in clinical settings is still limited b ...

Fluorescent hydrogel demonstrates great potential in biomedical field as chemo/biosensor and bioimaging agent Herein, a labeling strategy based on coordination bond between lanthanide and bisphosphonate (BP) is reported to form fluorescent hydrogel. Specif ...

Featured with an exposed active facet, favorable ion diffusion pathway, and tailorable interfacial properties, low-dimensional structures are extensively explored as alternative electroactive materials with game-changing redox properties. Through a stepwis ...

Cloud platforms allow users to execute tasks directly from their web browser and are a key enabling technology not only for commerce but also for computational science. Research software is often developed by scientists with limited experience in (and time ...
