The organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) achieve relatively high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) over the past few years. However, defects on the surface and at the grain boundaries of the perovskite active layers are critical factor ...

Developing hole-transporting materials (HTMs) with appropriate molecular configuration and charge mobility is important to improve perovskite solar cell (PSC) photovoltaic performance and their feasibility for commercialization. In this work, a novel pyram ...

Heteroaromatic units are commonly used as pi-spacers for sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Here, we investigated the influence of the pi-spacer on the photophysical properties, electrochemical properties and photovoltaic performance of car ...

Over the past three decades, dye-sensitized solar cells (i. e. Gratzel cells) have evolved from a pioneering concept of molecular photovoltaics to large-scale industrial deployment. In this review article, we provide a historical overview of the developmen ...

Surface defects cause non-radiative charge recombination and reduce the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), thus effective passivation of defects has become a crucial method for achieving efficient and stable devices. Organic ammoniu ...

The cost, stability, and photovoltaic performance of photosensi-tizers play a key role in the commercialization of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Herein, three novel sensitizers termed ZS10, ZS11, and ZS12 are described based on the simple chemical str ...

Photosensitizers yielding superior photocurrents are crucial for copper-electrolyte-based highly efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Herein, two molecularly tailored organic sensitizers are presented, coded ZS4 and ZS5, through judiciously employi ...

Interface engineering in perovskite solar cells is key to high performance. Now, You et al. design an interlayer that both passivates defects and improves the energy level alignment between the perovskite and hole transport material. ...
