Background The use of intralesional Mycobacterium bovis BCG (intralesional live BCG) for the treatment of metastatic melanoma resulted in regression of directly injected, and occasionally of distal lesions. However, intralesional-BCG is less effective in p ...

Photothermal therapy (PTT) has shown great potential in cancer treatment for inducing photothermal ablation and eliciting immune responses. However, PTT-triggered antitumor immunity is severely hampered by the dynamic amplification of programmed cell death ...

The success of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy in treating several hematopoietic malignancies has been difficult to replicate in solid tumors, in part because of T cell exhaustion and eventually dysfunction. To counter T cell dysfunction in ...

Despite a high response rate in chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy for acute lymphocytic leukaemia (ALL)1–3, approximately 50% of patients relapse within the first year4–6, representing an urgent question to address in the next stage of cellula ...

Modulating the metabolism of cancer cells, immune cells, or both is a promising strategy to potentiate cancer immunotherapy in the nutrient-competitive tumor microenvironment. Glutamine has emerged as an ideal target as cancer cells highly rely on glutamin ...

Tang and colleagues show that a half-life-extended IL-10-Fc fusion protein acts directly on terminally exhausted PD1(+)TIM-3(+)CD8(+) T cells to enhance their proliferation and effector function by reprogramming the cellular metabolism to oxidative phospho ...

Adjuvant is an essential component in subunit vaccines. Many agonists of pathogen recognition receptors have been developed as potent adjuvants to optimize the immunogenicity and efficacy of vaccines. Recently discovered cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator ...

The present invention relates generally to the field of anti-cancer therapy and autoimmune therapy, in particular to the use of adoptive T cell transfer therapy. More specifically, the present invention relates to compositions, pharmaceutical compositions ...

Current cancer immunotherapy predominately focuses on eliciting type 1 immune responses fighting cancer; however, long-term complete remission remains uncommon1,2. A pivotal question arises as to whether type 2 immunity can be orchestrated alongside type 1 ...

© 2024 The AuthorsMany cancer immunotherapies rely on robust CD8+ T cells capable of eliminating cancer cells and establishing long-term tumor control. Recent insights into immunometabolism highlight the importance of nutrients and metabolites in T cell ac ...
