Marie Trossat (1989, FR) is an architect and a socio-anthropologist based in between Brussels and Lausanne. Graduated from the architecture schools of Paris-Malaquais (M.Arch, 2013), she has worked for several architecture offices in Paris and Brussels. Beside her practice, her interest in architecture has been developed through researchs on inhabitat in margins or/with a precarious context. She explored with various tools the spaces of the prison, the monastery, the inhabited campsite, the homeless, the squat or the politic occupation. After a master in sociology and anthropology from UCLouvain in 2017, she begins a Ph.D in 2019 at the Laboratory of Urban Sociology of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and a scientific collaborator of Metrolab.brussels (IACCHOS, UCLouvain). Her thesis, that take place in a collective Swiss funded project, explores the spatiality, urbanity and materiality of the hospitality policies towards newcomers in situation of precariousness in Brussels.
