Han-Yun Jhang joined HOBEL in October 2020 as a Ph.D. student. She was selected as a winner of the 2020 EPFL - Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Scholarship. Han-Yun is equipped with interdisciplinary academia and industrial experience in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and flow measurement. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Mechanics from National Taiwan University (NTU), and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan. Before joining HOBEL, Han-Yun worked on designing and validating thermal solutions in Open Compute Project (OCP) for energy-efficient data centers. Han-Yun was also a flow metrology engineer in the National Measurement Laboratory (NML) in Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). She was in charge of managing gas flow standards, performing uncertainty analysis, and designing quality assurance plans to meet internationally recognized calibration and measurement capabilities. In HOBEL, Han-Yun expects to leverage her skills and interests in thermo-fluids, programming, and modeling to improve indoor environmental quality (IEQ).
