Adélie Eliane GarinTeaching & PhD Courses Sustainability ENV-101 This course presents global sustainability issues. It introduces planetary boundaries, their systemic interconnections and social justice issues. The interdisciplinary approach introduces group work and systems thinking (interdependencies in a complex system). Sustainability in my research ENG-650 This course is designed to develop the necessary transversal skills to foster sustainability integration in the present and future rese
Simon HolzerHi, I am Simon Holzer. I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering with a focus on microtechnology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) in 2020 and 2022, respectively. I am currently working towards Ph.D. in the Integrated Actuators Laboratory (LAI) at EPFL in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. My research interests lie in the field of soft robotics, artificial muscles, and biomechanics.
Antoine BosselutAntoine Bosselut is an assistant professor at EPFL. He leads the EPFL NLP group, which conducts research on natural language processing (NLP) systems that can model, represent, and reason about human and world knowledge.
Prior to joining EPFL, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University working in the
SNAP
and
NLP
groups and a young investigator on the
Mosaic
project at the
Allen Institute for AI
. He completed his PhD at the University of Washington.

Our research focuses on building secure and privacy-preserving systems. We aim to develop tools and methodologies to help engineers embedding strong security and privacy guarantees in their designs, as well as techniques that help them to systematically quantifying the information that an adversary can infer from data she may have access to.More information about our activities here: https://spring.epfl.ch/

I obtained my PhD (2012-2018) in KU Leuven/VIB, Belgium where I investigated astrocyte heterogeneity using single cell transcriptomics. During this period I developed tools to acutely and specifically isolate astrocytes from adult brain and identified five astrocyte subtypes in the cortex and hippocampus of mouse brain expanding previous understanding of astrocyte variability.Following my PhD, I did my first post-doc in
