Biofuels are considered as viable, sustainable and renewable alternatives to fossil fuels. One amongst them is biomethane which has emerged as one of the valuable contributors in facilitating the essential transition towards green energy sources. Industria ...

In this work, we report the synthesis of SION-8, a novel metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Ca(II) and a tetracarboxylate ligand TBAPy(4-) endowed with two chemically distinct types of pores characterized by their hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties ...

Biofuels are considered sustainable and renewable alternatives to conventional fossil fuels. Biobutanol has recently emerged as an attractive option compared to bioethanol and biodiesel, but a significant challenge in its production lies in the separation ...

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are an emerging class of materials that consist of metal ions which are linked with organic ligands via coordination bonds to form extended networks. MOF structures consists predominantly of open voids which makes them among ...

Limiting the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere is one of the largest challenges of our generation(1). Because carbon capture and storage is one of the few viable technologies that can mitigate current CO2 emissions(2), much effort is focused on developing ...

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), a class of crystalline and porous materials, are synthesized through the self-assembly of organic ligands and inorganic metal nodes (ions or clusters). For the past few years, MOFs have been in the limelight due to their st ...

Methanation of carbon dioxide (CO2) is attractive within the context of a renewable energy refinery. Herein, we report an indirect methanation method that harnesses amino alcohols as relay molecules in combination with a catalyst comprising ruthenium nanop ...

The present invention relates to the removal of carbon dioxide from gases. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of metal-organic frameworks for a selective adsorption of carbon dioxide from a gas. Further, the invention relates to a method f ...

The removal of organophosphorus (OP) herbicides fromwater hasbeen studied using adsorptive removal, chemical oxidation, electrooxidation, enzymatic degradation, and photodegradation. The OP herbicide glyphosate(GP) is one of the most used herbicides worldwi ...

Finding pragmatic solutions to curb the accumulation of atmospheric CO2 and tackle the associated greenhouse effect is challenging. Herein, we demonstrate the use of an in situ formed frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) within a metal-organic framework (MOF) to ef ...
