Expertise research & teaching :sociologyethnographysocial workurban planningpublic policieshistory of social sciences... Sociologist, social worker, and Doctor in Architecture and Urban Sciences from the école Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), I specialize in the analysis of urban spaces, professional practices, and public policies. For about ten years, my ethnographic work has explored the relationships between (in)security, space, and society. From a qualitative and critical perspective, I seek to better understand the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion at play in contemporary societies. My more recent interests focus on the urban and digital spaces of neighborhood communities. Alongside my academic engagements, I have taken on various professional responsibilities, such as at the Permanent Office of the Montreux Jazz Festival (security coordinator) or at the City of Lausanne (head of the Urban Mediation and Security Department). I also teach urban sociology (master's level) at EPFL, regularly speak at public events, and write (columns, fiction, poetry).
