Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2RR) is promoted by ionic liquid (IL) co-catalysts, and several mechanisms have been proposed to explain their role. Due to the complexity of the CO2RR and the limited number of active IL co-catalysts, a conse ...

N-formylation of amines with CO2 is base-catalyzed and studies of salt catalysts reveal that the reaction is efficiently catalyzed by "free" floating anions of high basicity, as represented in the cover image. More information can be found in the Full Pape ...

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were applied to the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). Choline-based DESs represent a non-toxic and inexpensive alternative to room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) as additives to the system or as electrolyte. F ...

Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide is one of the plausible approaches towards renewable energy carriers. When coupled with electricity, which can be provided by sustainable technologies, it becomes a method of high importance with potential value ...

Platinum -based anticancer drugs, while potent, are associated with numerous and severe side effects. Hyperthermia therapy is an effective adjuvant in anticancer treatment, however, clinically used platinum drugs have not been optimised for combination wit ...

Pyrazolium ionic liquids (Pz ILs) were employed as co-catalysts for electrochemical conversion of CO2 to CO on a silver disk electrode, leading to a significant decrease in the onset potential for the reduction (ca. 500 mV). The electrochemical conversion ...

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO is a reaction of central importance for sustainable energy conversion and storage. Herein, structure activity relationships of a series of imidazolium-based cocatalysts for this reaction are described, which demon ...
