This research work has been triggered by an industrial project aimed at modelling and manufacturing a small-scale very high speed motor. Very high speed electrical motors offer the main advantage of reducing the size of a system. Indeed, at constant output ...

Slotless windings are commonly used in small size high-speed electrical brushless dc machines. Unlike slotted windings, forced to follow the direction of slots, slotless windings can be freely arranged in the airgap. This represents several opportunities f ...

The purpose of this paper is to present an experimental method to separate losses components due to the rotation of the rotor in very-high-speed permanent magnet machines with ball bearings. In addition, it presents and validates an analytical model for th ...

This paper aims to present an optimization method for very-high-speed electrical machines based on multiphysical analytical models. Analytical models allow a fast design but have to be robust and reliable. The set of models presented is very complete and c ...
