The early Universe presented a star formation environment that was almost devoid of heavy elements. The lowest metallicity stars thus provide a unique window into the earliest Galactic stages, but are exceedingly rare and difficult to find. Here, we presen ...

Ultrathin layers of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H), passivating the surface of crystalline silicon (c-Si), are key enablers for high-efficiency silicon heterojunction solar cells. In this work, the authors apply highly sensitive attenuated total r ...

We report on the fabrication of back-contacted silicon heterojunction solar cells with conversion efficiencies above 21%. Our process technology relies solely on simple and size-scalable patterning methods, with no high-temperature steps. Using in situ sha ...

We present a detailed study of the faint Milky Way satellite Draco II (Dra II) from deep CFHT/MegaCam broad-band g and i photometry and narrow-band metallicity-sensitive CaliK observations, along with follow-up Keck II/DEIMOS multi-object spectroscopy. For ...
