We study the unconventional photon blockade, recently proposed for a coupled-cavity system, in the presence of input and output quantum fields. Mixing of the input or output channels still allows strong photon antibunching of the output field, but for opti ...

The optical spin-Hall effect results in the formation of an antisymmetric real-space polarization pattern giving birth to spin currents. In this work, we show that the exciton-polariton parametric scattering allows us to reverse the sign of these currents. ...

We propose a realistic protocol for the preparation and readout of mechanical Bell states in an optomechanical system. The proposal relies on parameters characterizing a photonic crystal cavity mode, coupled to two localized flexural modes of the structure ...

We review the unconventional photon blockade mechanism. This quantum effect remarkably enables a strongly sub-Poissonian light statistics, even from a system characterized by a weak single-photon nonlinearity. We revisit the past results, which can be inte ...

We propose a single-photon source based on a pair of weakly nonlinear optical cavities subject to a one-directional dissipative coupling. When both cavities are driven by mutually coherent fields, sub-Poissonian light is generated in the target cavity even ...

We show that the TE-TM modes splitting and the structure anisotropy of a semiconductor microcavity combine into a non-Abelian gauge field for exciton-polaritons or cavity photons. The field texture can be tuned simply by rotating the sample and ranges cont ...

We theoretically study the emission statistics of a weakly nonlinear photonic dimer during coherent oscillations. We show that the phase and population dynamics allow to periodically meet an optimal squeezing condition resulting in a strongly nonclassical ...

We propose an all-optical nonlinear router based on a double barrier gate connected to periodically modulated guides. A semiconductor microcavity is driven nonresonantly in-between the barriers to form an exciton-polariton condensate on a discrete state th ...

The outstanding progress in nanostructure fabrication and cooling technologies allows what was unthinkable a few decades ago: bringing single-mode mechanical vibrations to the quantum regime. The coupling between photon and phonon excitations is a natural ...

We develop a numerical procedure to efficiently model the nonequilibrium steady state of one-dimensional arrays of open quantum systems based on a matrix-product operator ansatz for the density matrix. The procedure searches for the null eigenvalue of the ...

We propose and demonstrate a versatile technique to measure the lifetime of the one-phonon Fock state using two-color pump-probe Raman scattering and spectrally resolved, time-correlated photon counting. Following pulsed laser excitation, the n = 1 phonon ...

We theoretically demonstrate a mechanism for bright soliton generation in spinor non-equilibrium Bose-Einstein condensates made of atoms or quasi-particles such as polaritons in semiconductor microcavities. We give analytical expressions for bright (half) ...

We consider exciton polaritons in a semiconductor microcavity with a saturable absorber in the growth direction of the heterostructure. This feature promotes additional nonlinear losses of the system with the emergence of bistability of the condensate part ...

We report on an on-chip routing device for propagating condensates of exciton-polaritons. This counter-directional coupler implements signal control by a photonic microdisk potential, which couples two lithographically defined waveguides and reverses the c ...

We consider a nonequilibrium system of interacting emitters described by the XXZ model, whose excitonic transitions are spatially and spectrally coupled to a single mode cavity. We demonstrate that the output radiation field is sensitive to an interplay be ...

We theoretically demonstrate the generation of dark soliton trains in a one-dimensional exciton-polariton condensate within experimentally accessible schemes. In particular, we show that the frequency of the train can be finely tuned fully optically or ele ...
