Ka-band satellite technology has been drawing growing interest from public transportation industry to military applications, due to its advantages of higher speed links, smaller terminals and reduced costs. These well-recognized characteristics have also b ...

A polarizing sheet based on a fully metallic structure is here reported for the first time. The polarizer consists of a doubly-periodic arrangement of squared-wave guide sections enclosed by two perforated screens. Though the waveguide sections are highly ...

The disposal of an equivalent network representation to characterize the frequency behavior of grounded periodic arrays of printed patches is here combined with the assistance of full-wave electromagnetic simulator to achieve a very efficient method for an ...

A novel dual-band polarization-independent transmitarray is introduced in this paper for communication systems in Ka-band. Thanks to its unit-cell topology, the transmitarray antenna demonstrates almost complete independent performance at two design freque ...

This paper presents analytical expressions to model the diffraction of plane-waves at planar 2-D distributions of printed dipoles. In contrast to other available analytical or quasi-analytical models, this approach rigorously captures the main underlying p ...

An equivalent-network model is here proposed to characterize two-dimensional planar periodic arrays of arbitrary scatterers/apertures embedded in a layered environment. The model is an extension of the approach previously developed by some of the authors, ...

This paper reports a novel methodology to design broadband orthomode transducers with two arbitrarily spaced ports carrying orthogonal linear polarizations. The component is based on a combination of two Boifot junctions through a series of power dividers ...

This paper presents a simple, low-cost and compact mobile ground terminal antenna for Ka-band satellite communications that operates in the downlink band (19.7-20.2 GHz). The antenna is composed of a shaped dielectric lens which tilts in front of a planar ...
