In the present study, we propose a new photocatalytic interface prepared by high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS), and investigated for the degradation of Reactive Green 12 (RG12) as target contaminant under visible light light-emitting diodes ( ...

Fluorinated-titanium dioxide (TiO2-F) nanoparticles in a pure anatase polymorph was precipitated from solution by hydrolysis of titanium oxychloride, using urea and ammonia as precipitation agents and potassium fluoride as a source of fluorine anion. A fur ...

The present study investigates the photocatalytic degradation of three quinolone antibiotics (i.e., Flumequine (FLU), Oxolinic Acid (OA) and Nalidixic Acid (NA)) in mono-, binary and ternary compound systems. The closed-loop step photo-reactor and TiO2 imp ...

In the present work, we study the fabrication of self-cleaning antibacterial surfaces, active under indoor or outdoor light. In order to obtain the highest activity with the lowest complexity we assess mild conditions of preparation (temperatures), pre-tre ...

This report presents an up-to-date review on the interaction of light with magnetic semiconductors during photocatalysis leading to bacterial inactivation and pollutant degradation. The acceleration in the photocatalytic reactions mediated by wide-band gap ...

In this study, we examined the removal kinetics of two fluoroquinolones (FQs), flumequine (FLU) and ciprofloxacin (CIP), in synthetic wastewater (SWW) and real hospital wastewater (RHW) using FeOx thin films, peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and visible light. Nano ...

In this study, photoactive CuxO/TiO2 coatings were prepared using magnetron sputtering operated at different powers and modes (Direct-current magnetron sputtering and High Power Impulse magnetron sputtering). Indoor/outdoor air pollutions (Volatile Organic ...

Hazardous chemicals excruciatingly contaminated water, air, and soil for the past few decades. Eco-friendly techniques to clean and or destroy these harmful chemicals is an urgent requirement at this moment. In this direction, a large number of methodologi ...

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of non-thermal plasma (NTP) and heterogeneous photocatalytic processes for indoor air treatment of refrigerated food chambers. Propionic acid and benzene were chosen as target pollutants to simulate o ...

This study presents the first evidence for the photocatalytic performance of ZnO/CuxO hexagonal nanowires leading to sulfamethazine (SMT) degradation. The chemical composition of the nanowires was determined by X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The sample with the ...

In this work, we report on the effect of anodization time on the morphology, optical, and photocatalytic properties of TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) allowing bacterial inactivation and two organic pollutant degradation under low-intensity solar-simulated light. Sca ...

In the present work, we studied the NH(3)and H2S odor fluxes between the exposed working area and the HDPE covering film holes of the daily overlay in an actual landfill site with a daily operating area of 1600 m(2)in Hangzhou, China. We showed that the od ...

This study presents the photocatalytic degradation of sulfamethazine (SMT) on TiO2/CuxO nanotubes (NTs) by a differentiated mechanism under low intensity solar light and indoor visible light irradiation. In the presence of TiO2/CuxO nanotubes, the SMT-degr ...

The widely different effects of Cu-polyester (PES) sputtered by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HIPIMS) compared to the lower energy direct current magnetron sputtering (DCMS) leading to bacterial inactivation are addressed during the course of th ...

Potassium hydroxide (KOH) modified network-type carbon spheres (CSs) with abundant oxygen-rich groups were synthesized using a simple hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of glucose precursor and utilized for the adsorptive removal of cadmium(II) heavy metal a ...

Solar disinfection (SODIS) is a WHO-accepted intervention method for improving water sources in developing countries. Despite its effectiveness, the limitations of long exposure and bacterial regrowth risk demand further improvement of the practice. In thi ...

Solar disinfection (SODIS) is a well-accepted intervention method, leading to an improvement in contaminated water sources. In this work, we attempted to further enhance the bacterial inactivation process during light exposure. By means of iron oxide addit ...

This study presents the design, preparation, testing and characterization of TiN and TiN-Ag nanoparticulate films leading to photocatalytic and catalytic inactivation of Escherichia coli. When Ti was sputtered in N2 atmosphere, the TiN films unexpectedly r ...

Uniform adhesive TiO2–ZrO2 films co-sputtered on polyester (PES) under low intensity sunlight irradiation discolored methylene blue (MB) within 120 min. The discoloration kinetics was seen to be accelerated by a factor four by TiO2–ZrO2–Cu containing ∼0.01 ...

Tantalum oxide Ta2O5 nanotubes (NTs) were prepared by electrochemical anodization and were decorated with lead sulfide nanoparticles PbS (NPs) by Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction commonly known as the SILAR method. The PbS NPs/Ta2O5 NTs were ...
