Metal-halide perovskites-based optoelectronic devices, such as solar cells and light-emitting diodes (LEDs), are transitioning from promising performers to direct competitors to well-established technologies due to the advantage of cost-effectiveness. Pero ...

Following pioneering work(1), solution-processable organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites-such as CH3NH3PbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I)-have attracted attention as light-harvesting materials for mesoscopic solar cells(2-15). So far, the perovskite pigment has been depo ...

CH3NH3PbX3 (MAPbX(3)) perovskites have attracted considerable attention as absorber materials for solar light harvesting, reaching solar to power conversion efficiencies above 20%. In spite of the rapid evolution of the efficiencies, the understanding of b ...

Although ultrahigh power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 22.7% has been achieved by solution-processable perovskite solar cells (PSCs), there are still some obstacles that hinder the way of this promising photovoltaic technology to its commercialization. ...

Starting from 2,2-bipyridine dicarboxylic acid, two new (D--A)(2) sensitizers, including m-DA with the carboxyl anchoring group substituted meta to the donor-bridge moiety and p-DA with a para-substituted anchoring group, were synthesized in order to evalu ...

Six new donor-pi spacer-acceptor (D-pi-A) organic sensitizers based on the 2-quinolinone moiety as acceptor and anchoring groups were synthesized and tested for their performance in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The systematic tuning of acceptor stre ...

Cyclometalated ruthenium sensitizers have been synthesized that differ with number of thiophene units on the auxiliary ligands. Sensitizers possessing four (SA25, SA246, and SA285) or none (SA282) sulfur atoms in their structures, were tested in solar cell ...

We demonstrate low-temperature (70 degrees C) solution processing of TiO2/CH3NH3PbI3 based solar cells, resulting in impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.7%. Along with the high efficiency, a strikingly high open circuit potential (V-OC) of 1 ...

A solution processable, molecular organic semiconductor, 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-pentacene), was employed as hole transport material (HTM) in mesoscopic methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells. TIPS-pentacene is potenti ...

Mesoscopic solid-state solar cells based on the inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite CH(3)NH(3)Pbl(3) in conjunction with the amorphous organic semiconductor spiro-MeOTAD as a hole transport material (HIM) are investigated using impedance spectroscopy (IS). ...

The quest for lead-free light-absorbing perovskite materials has long been the target of researchers to make the 'star' material friendly to the commercial market. After a summary of different lead-free solar absorbers, we demonstrate a zero-dimensional io ...

Interfacial engineering of the meso-TiO2 surface through a modified sequential deposition procedure involving a novel PbI2–HMPA complex pretreatment is conducted as a reproducible method for preparing MAPbI3 based perovskite solar cells providing the highe ...

Hybrid halide perovskite solar cells were first demonstrated in 2009 with cell efficiency quickly soaring from below 10% to more than 23% in a few years. Halide perovskites have the desirable processing simplicity but are very fragile when exposed to water ...

Spiro-type molecules have been extensively explored as hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, a closer look at the rule of design of such molecules is missing, and a combined experimental and theoretical study is need ...

Effective passivation and stabilization of both the inside and interface of a perovskite layer are crucial for perovskite solar cells (PSCs), in terms of efficiency, reproducibility, and stability. Here, the first formamidinium lead iodide (δ-FAPbI3) polym ...

Recently organicinorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as light harvesting materials in mesoscopic cells. While a considerable number of deposition and formation methods have been reported for the perovskite crystalline material, most involv ...

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as successful light harvesting materials for mesoscopic solid-state solar cells and led to record breaking efficiencies. The photovoltaic performance of these devices is greatly dependent on the ...

Sunlight-driven CO2 reduction is a promising way to close the anthropogenic carbon cycle. Integrating light harvester and electrocatalyst functions into a single photo electrode, which converts solar energy and CO2 directly into reduced carbon species, is ...

The exploration of alternative molecular hole-transporting materials (HTMs) specifically for high performance perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is a relatively recent research area. Aiming for further increasing the 'efficiency-cost ratio' of PSCs, we develope ...

Three new sterically demanding unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanines have been designed and synthesized as sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells. All three unsymmetrical phthalocyanines have been completely characterized by elemental analyses, mass spect ...
