Nuclear thermal-hydraulics (TH) system codes use several parametrized physical or empirical models to describe complex two-phase flow phenomena. The reliability of their predictions is as such primarily affected by the uncertainty associated with the param ...

In this paper we followed the functional data analysis (FDA) paradigm to summarize the output of computer code simulating a reflood transient. The paradigm stands on the assumption that the data (code output) is generated by a smooth, albeit complex, proce ...

In the work presented in this paper, a sensitivity analysis using the Morris screening method was carried out for a model of the Flooding Experiment with Blocked Arrays (FEBA) separate-effect test facility. The sensitivity analysis was conducted in the con ...

Understanding properly the impact of model parameters and their interactions on the predictions is required for an appropriate model assessment. For simulation of reflooding following a LOCA, this requirement is justified because the important parameters a ...

This paper reports refinement studies on the temporal coupling scheme and time-stepping management of TRACE/S3K, a dynamically coupled code version of the thermal-hydraulics system code TRACE and the 3D core simulator Simulate-3K. The studies were carried ...

This paper presents an assessment conducted at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) of two Monte Carlo-based codes, namely Monteburns and Serpent, for LWR depletion calculations. First, a validation of predicted spent fuel compositions is presented on the basi ...
