We have searched for the lepton-flavor-violating decay B-0 -> K-*0 mu(+/-)e(-/+) using a data sample of 711 fb(-1) that contains 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs. The data were collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB as ...

The present invention provides methods of increasing muscle mass and muscle miochodrial oxidative metabolism. Additionally, the invention provides treating various disorders associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, including but not limited to metabolic ...

Transcriptional coregulators control the activity of many transcription factors and are thought to have wide-ranging effects on gene expression patterns. We show here that muscle-specific loss of nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCoR1) in mice leads to enha ...

The formation of myelin by Schwann cells (SCs) occurs via a series of orchestrated molecular events. We previously used global expression profiling to examine peripheral nerve myelination and identified the NAD(+)-dependent deacetylase Sir-two-homolog 2 (S ...

Background: SIRT2 belongs to a highly conserved family of NAD(+)-dependent deacylases, consisting of seven members (SIRT1-SIRT7), which vary in subcellular localizations and have substrates ranging from histones to transcription factors and enzymes. Recent ...

We report searches for the processes e(+) e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0)chi(bJ) and e(+) e(-) -> phi chi(bJ) ( J = 1, 2) based on data samples collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB collider. We report the first observation of the process e(+) e(-) -> (pi( ...

We present the result of the search for the rare B meson decay of B+ -> l(+)nu e gamma with l = e, mu. For the search the full data set recorded by the Belle experiment of 711 fb(-1) integrated luminosity near the Upsilon(4S) resonance is used. Signal cand ...

Using data samples of 89.5 fb(-1), 711.0 fb(-1), and 121.4 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at center-of-mass energies 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV, respectively, we study the exclusive reactions e(+) ...

We report on the first Belle search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson, A(0), that decays into low mass dark matter, chi, in final states with a single photon and missing energy. We search for events produced via the dipion transition (sic)(2S) -> (sic)(1S)pi( ...

The nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD(+))-dependent deacetylase SIRT1 is a major metabolic regulator activated by energy stresses such as fasting or calorie restriction. SIRT1 activation during fasting not only relies on the increase in the NAD(+)/NAD ...
