Following pioneering work(1), solution-processable organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites-such as CH3NH3PbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I)-have attracted attention as light-harvesting materials for mesoscopic solar cells(2-15). So far, the perovskite pigment has been depo ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have gained tremendous attention owing to their promising photovoltaic performance, surpassing all the alternative technologies based on solution-processed materials. PSCs displaying record efficiencies contain hole transporti ...

Redox mediators play a major role determining the photocurrent and the photovoltage in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). To maintain the photocurrent, the reduction of oxidized dye by the redox mediator should be significantly faster than the electron bac ...

Undoubtedly, perovskite solar cells have become a key player in 3rd generation photovoltaics over the last few years. Although it is only in 2012 that the first solid state perovskite solar cell was reported, power conversion efficiencies have increased so ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with efficiencies greater than 20% have been realized only with expensive organic hole-transporting materials. We demonstrate PSCs that achieve stabilized efficiencies exceeding 20% with copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) as the ho ...

A promising approach for upgrading the performance of an established low-bandgap solar technology without adding much cost is to deposit a high bandgap polycrystalline semiconductor on top to make a tandem solar cell. We use a transparent silver nanowire e ...

The exploration of alternative low-cost molecular hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for both highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is a relatively new research area. Two novel HTMs using the thiophene core were designed and synthesized ...

A low band gap quinolizino acridine based molecule was designed and synthesized as new hole transporting material for organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskite solar cells. The functionalized quinolizino acridine compound showed an effective hole mob ...

The success of perovskite solar cells has sparked enormous excitement in the photovoltaic community not only because of unexpectedly high efficiencies but also because of the future potential ascribed to such crystalline absorber materials. Far from being ...

Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells currently suffer from issues such as inadequate nanopore filling, low conductivity and crystallization of hole-transport materials infiltrated in the mesoscopic TiO2 scaffolds, leading to low performances. Here we rep ...

Hybrid organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite APbX(3) pigments, such as methylammonium lead iodide, have recently emerged as excellent light harvesters in solid-state mesoscopic solar cells. An important target for the further improvement of the performa ...

We report on both the intrinsic and the extrinsic stability of a formamidinium lead bromide [CH(NH2)(2)PbBr3 = FAPbBr(3)] perovskite solar cell that yields a high photovoltage. The fabrication of FAPbBr(3) devices, displaying an outstanding photo voltage o ...

A fullerene derivative (alpha-bis-PCBM) is purified from an as-produced bis-phenyl-C-61-butyric acid methyl ester (bis-[60]PCBM) isomer mixture by preparative peak-recycling, high-performance liquid chromatography, and is employed as a templating agent for ...

Organolead iodide perovskite, CH3NH3PbI3, was prepared in the form of nanowire by means of a small quantity of aprotic solvent in two-step spin-coating procedure. One-dimensional nanowire perovskite with the mean diameter of 100 nm showed faster carrier se ...

The surge of the power conversion efficiency of metal halide lead perovskite solar cells comes with concerns, such as the long-term ecotoxicity of lead compounds, their sensitivity toward moisture and oxygen, or the scarcity of some of their components. Mo ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have shown significant potential for indoor arid building integrated photovoltaic applications. Herein we present three new D-A-pi-A organic sensitizers, XY1, XY2, and XY3, that exhibit high molar extinction coefficients ...

Perovskite solar cells based on CH3NH3PbI3 and related materials have reached impressive efficiencies that, on a lab scale, can compete with established solar cell technologies, at least in short-term observations. Despite frequently voiced concerns about ...

We report on rapid halide exchange in metal halide perovskite of the general formula MAPbX(3) (X = Cl, Br, or I). We find that when the perovskite is infiltrated in a mesoscopic scaffold, halide substitution on the perovskite lattice is strikingly fast, be ...

Perovskite solar cells with submicrometre-thick CH3NH3PbI3 or CH3NH3PbI3-xClx active layers show a power conversion efficiency as high as 15%. However, compared to the best-performing device, the average efficiency was as low as 12%, with a large standard ...

A photovoltaic system including a solar cell having a hysteretic behavior; and a power device configured to extract a maximum power from the solar cell by forcing power oscillations of the power output by the solar cell. ...
