The dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DT-ℂWT) is known to exhibit better shift-invariance than the conventional discrete wavelet transform. We propose an amplitude-phase representation of the DT-ℂWT which, among other things, offers a direct explanation ...

The efficient realization of linear space-variant (non-convolution) filters is a challenging computational problem in image processing. In this paper, we demonstrate that it is possible to filter an image with a Gaussian-like elliptic window of varying siz ...

We propose an amplitude-phase representation of the dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DT-ℂWT) which provides an intuitive interpretation of the associated complex wavelet coefficients. The representation, in particular, is based on the shifting action o ...

Several computer vision problems, like segmentation, tracking and shape modeling, are increasingly being solved using level set methodologies. But the critical issues of stability and convergence have always been neglected in most of the level set implemen ...

We propose a fast algorithm for the detection of cells in fluorescence images. The algorithm, which estimates the number of cells and their respective centers and radii, relies on the fast computation of intensity-based correlations between the cells and a ...
