Photoinduced electron transfer (PET) across molecular/bulk interfaces has gained attention only recently and is still poorly understood. These interfaces offer an excellent case study, pertinent to a variety of photovoltaic systems, photo- and electrochemi ...

Ultrafast optical probing of the electric field by means of Stark effect in planar heterojunction cyanine dye / fullerene organic solar cells enables to directly monitor the dynamics of free electron formation during the dissociation of interfacial charge ...

Applying time-resolved electroabsorption spectroscopy for the first time to methylammonium lead triiodide perovskite (MAPbI3) thin films under reverse bias, we monitored optically the ultrafast evolution of the local counter-electric field produced by the ...

Organic photovoltaics (OPV) have the potential to provide low-cost solar-to-electricity converting devices. Improving such devices requires a deeper understanding of the ultrafast photoinduced processes occurring after light absorption. We have performed f ...

Nanostructured liquid|solid and solid|solid bulk heterojunctions designed for the conversion of solar energy offer ideal models for the investigation of light-induced ET dynamics at surfaces. Despite significant study of processes leading to charge generat ...

We reveal some of the key mechanisms during charge generation in polymer:fullerene blends exploiting our well-defined understanding of the microstructures obtained in pBTTT:PCBM systems via processing with fatty acid methyl ester additives. Based on ultraf ...

There has been long-standing debate on how free charges are generated in donor:acceptor blends that are used in organic solar cells, and which are generally comprised of a complex phase morphology, where intermixed and neat phases of the donor and acceptor ...

We have used a femtosecond-resolved spectroscopic technique based on the Stark effect (electromodulated differential absorption) in order to investigate free charge generation and charge drift in solar cell devices of neat conjugated polymer pBTTT and in i ...

Photoinduced electron transfer in light-absorbing materials is the first step towards charge separation and extraction in small molecule-based organic solar cells. The excited state dynamics of the cyanine dye cation Cy3 paired with a tetraphenylborate cou ...
