Resistive Random Access Memory (RRAM) technology opens the opportunity for granting both high-performance and low- power features to routing multiplexers. In this paper, we study the physical design considerations related to RRAM- based routing mult ...

Nanometer CMOS scaling has resulted in greatly increased circuit variability, with extremely adverse consequences on design predictability and yield. A number of recent works have focused on adaptive post-fabrication tuning approaches to mitigate this prob ...

Silicon nanowires (SiNWs), fabricated via a top-down approach and then functionalized with biological probes, are used for electrically-based sensing of breast tumor markers. The SiNWs, featuring memristive-like behavior in bare conditions, show, in the pr ...

Clock distribution networks consume a considerable portion of the power dissipated by synchronous circuits. In conventional clock distribution networks, clock buffers are inserted to retain signal integrity along the long interconnects, which, in turn, sig ...

Manycore chips are emerging as the architecture of choice to provide power efficiency and improve performance, while riding Moore’s Law. In these architectures, on-chip interconnects play a pivotal role in ensuring power and performance scalability. As sup ...

In this paper, a new approach for evaluating the performance of a multi-panel biosensor using linear algebra is presented. With a system-level mathematical analysis based on graphs and linear algebra, we formulate a new approach for contributions decouplin ...

In this paper, we demonstrate the ability of the multi- spacer patterning technique to yield layers of polycrystalline silicon nanowires with a sublithographic pitch, by exclusively using micrometer resolution and CMOS processing steps. We characterize sin ...

Solid-state resistive switches have recently enabled low-power, scalable, non-volatile memories. Their proven intrinsic logic operation, allowing design of in-memory computing systems, attracted the attention of the research community. A Programmable Logic ...

Next generation logic switch devices are ex- pected to rely on radically new technologies mainly due to the increasing difficulties and limitations of state-of-the-art CMOS switches, which, in turn, will also require innovative design methodologies that ar ...

Reducing the number of AND gates plays a central role in many cryptography and security applications. We propose a logic synthesis algorithm and tool to minimize the number of AND gates in a logic network composed of AND, XOR, and inverter gates. Our appro ...

In this paper, we present an improved design flow for nanoelectromechanical (NEM) relay-based combinational logic circuits. Six-terminal NEM relays can be programmed to act as 2-to-1 multiplexers. We can therefore use NEM relays to implement arbitrary comb ...

The slowing down of Moore's law and the emergence of new technologies puts an increasing pressure on the field of EDA. There is a constant need to improve optimization algorithms. However, finding and implementing such algorithms is a difficult task, espec ...

Implantable devices can be developed for the simultaneous monitoring of a specific group of key metabolites, identified by more complex techniques, such as mass spectroscopy- or nuclear magnetic -based analysis.. Since there is a strong correlation between ...

Monitoring of metabolic compounds, such as glucose and lactate, is extensively reported in literature, especially for clinical purposes. Instead, the application of such technologies for monitoring metabolites in cell cultures has not been explored. From o ...

Biosensors benefit from specific nano- to monitor human metabolites [1], [2]. Moreover, small structuration of the active bio-interface layer. In this electrodes allow us to design many sensing sites, each perspective, a wide range of carbon nanomaterials ...

Recent advances in biosensing technologies have led to applications of biosensor probe arrays for rapid identification of biological agents such as drugs, gene expressions, proteins, cholesterol and fats in an input sample. However, monitoring the simultan ...

This keynote paper highlights the interaction between emerging technologies and software tools to enable the current evolution of electronic design automation systems. ...

Amperometric biosensors are complex systems and they require a combination of technologies for their development. The aim of the present work is to propose a new approach in order to develop nanostructured biosensors for the real-time detection of multiple ...

The challenges of conventional semiconducting electronics, such as dark silicon, memory wall, and stagnant clock frequency motivate the search for alternative computing technologies. Superconductive electronics (SCE) represents one of the most advanced bey ...

Resistive random access memory (RRAM) based multiplexers and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are provided. The RRAM-based multiplexers and FPGAs include a 4T1R programming structure to program the RRAMs. The programming structure includes two progra ...
