Personalized therapy requires accurate and frequent monitoring of drugs metabolic response in living organisms during drug treatments. In case of high risk side effects, e.g. therapies with interfering anti-cancer molecules cocktails, direct monitoring of ...

Adiabatic Quantum-Flux-Parametron (AQFP) is a family of superconducting electronic (SCE) circuits exhibiting high energy efficiency. In AQFP technology, logic gates require splitters to drive multiple fanouts and both the logic gates and the splitters are ...

This article proposes a new logic synthesis and verification paradigm based on circuit simulation. In this paradigm, high quality, expressive simulation patterns are pregenerated to be reused in multiple runs of optimization and verification algorithms, re ...

Typical operators for the decomposition of Boolean functions in state-of-the-art algorithms are AND, exclusive-OR (XOR), and the 2-to-1 multiplexer (MUX). We propose a logic decomposition algorithm that uses the majority-of-three (MAJ) operation. Such a de ...

Majority-inverter graphs (MIGs) are a logic representation with remarkable algebraic and Boolean properties that enable efficient logic optimizations beyond the capabilities of traditional logic representations. Further, since many nano-emerging technologi ...

We consider computationally reconstructing gene regulatory networks on top of the binary abstraction of gene expression state information. Unlike previous Boolean network approaches, the proposed method does not handle noisy gene expression values directly ...

3-Dimensional integrated circuits and systems are expected to be present in electronic products in the short term. We consider specifically 3-D multi-processor systems-onchip (MPSoCs), realized by stacking silicon CMOS chips and interconnecting them by mea ...

A system for wireless power transfer and data communication of implantable bio-monitoring systems is presented. The proposed solution uses a servo-controlled power transmitter moved under the animal moving space. An x-y movable magnetic coil transmits the ...

Most logic synthesis algorithms work on graph representations of logic functions with nodes associated with arbitrary logic expressions or simple logic functions and iteratively optimize such graphs. While recent multilevel logic synthesis efforts focused ...

Modern high-performance processors employ thermal management systems, which rely on accurate readings of on-die thermal sensors. Systematic tools for analysis and determination of best allocation and placement of thermal sensors is therefore a highly relev ...

For better understanding of genetic mechanisms underlying clinical observations, it is interesting to determine which genes and clinical traits are interrelated. In the last few years a consistent amount of research in genomics has been done concerning cor ...

With technological advances, the number of cores integrated on a chip is increasing. This, in turn is leading to thermal constraints and thermal design challenges. Temperature gradients and hot-spots not only affect the performance of the system, but also ...

The race for performance of integrated circuits is nowadays facing a downscale limitation. To overpass this nanoscale limit, modern transistors with complex geometries have flourished, allowing higher performance and energy efficiency. Accompanying this br ...

The monitoring of metabolic compounds such as glucose is largely reported in literature. The applications of this type of analysis are mainly related to clinical purposes, e.g. in diabetes pathology, where a lot of studies are presented in literature. Rece ...

Nowadays, most software and hardware applications are committed to reduce the footprint and resource usage of data. In this general context, lossless data compression is a beneficial technique that encodes information using fewer (or at most equal number o ...

Lithium represents the main drug for the treatment of Bipolar Disorder (BD) as it acts as a mood stabilizer. However, because of its narrow therapeutic window, psychiatric patients are obliged to frequent tests in hospital to control their lithium blood co ...

A Monolithic biosensing platform is presented for miniaturized amperometric electrochemical sensing in CMOS. The system consists of a fully-integrated current readout circuit for differential current measurement as well as on-die sensors developed by growi ...

Adiabatic superconducting devices are promising candidates to develop high-speed/low-power electronics. Advances in physical technology must be matched with a systematic development of comprehensive design and simulation tools to bring superconducting elec ...

Here, we review the most recent developments in the field of 2-D electronics. We focus first on the synthesis of 2-D materials, discussing the different growth techniques currently available and assessing their strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, we descri ...

Quantum electronic circuits where the logic information is processed and stored in single flux quanta promise efficient computation in a performance/power metric, and thus are of utmost interest as possible replacement or enhancement of CMOS. Several elect ...
