This thesis presents an experimental study of the time-resolved optical response of three different nanoscale systems: CdSe and PbSe quantum dots, and silver triangular nanoplates. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the understanding of the effects ...

The authors measured the ultrafast response of triangular silver nanoparticles upon femtosecond excitation of their plasmon resonance. After a fast electron relaxation, the signature of a bimodal mech. vibration of the particle is apparent as a spectral mo ...

Femtosecond photoluminescence (PL) up-conversion studies in polychromatic mode and laser-power-dependence studies of the PL were carried out on colloidal solutions of CdSe quantum dots with diameters ranging from 2.4 to 4 nm. The main features of the spect ...

The (sub)-ps relaxation processes in PbSe quantum dots of different sizes were measured by near-IR luminescence upconversion. The early-time spectra are characterized by emission from several low-lying excited states. The direct measurement of the Huang-Rh ...

We present our studies of femtosecond photoluminescence of colloidal solns. of CdSe and PbSe nanocrystals, using polychromatic fluorescence upconversion. Ultrafast relaxation processes are obsd. in both cases upon excitation at 400 nm and 800 nm resp. Unde ...
