The Saint-Marc dam, owned by EDF-France is a concrete gravity dam built between 1926 and 1930. It is located near Limoges (France) on the Taurion River and has currently two gated spillways, one 7.50 m wide on the right bank and the other with two passes o ...

In alpine regions of Europe, river training works were typically the reason for the transformation of wide and braided rivers into linear river systems with a lack of structural diversity, i.e. gravel banks, islands, woody debris, riffles or pools. These i ...

La réhabilitation des barrages existants impose généralement une augmentation de leur capacité d’évacuation en crue. Dans de nombreuses situations, le PK-Weir (Piano Key Weir) offre à cet égard une solution compacte et efficace. La conception et la réalisa ...

River channel confluences form important morphological components of any river system. This article presents the results of an investigation on a natural river confluence in Switzerland. The aim of the field work performed at the confluence of the Sarine ( ...

The Discussers would like to congratulate the Authors for their interesting work concerning the flow characteristics in channel confluences, performed by means of three-dimensional numerical simulations considering rectangular crosssections with smooth bed ...

The aim of this work is to obtain a better understanding of the morphological development in alpine river confluences, where special attention is given to the widening of the tributary channel and its influence on bed morphology evolution. Hydraulic tests ...

The interest in Piano Key weirs (PKW) was increasing over the past years, both in terms of application and hydraulic research. Several systematic model test series were per-formed and published so far, originating from different hydraulic laboratories arou ...
