12-Metallacrown-3 complexes were formed by self-assembly of organometallic half-sandwich complexes [(π-ligand)MCl2]2 (M = Ru, Rh, Ir) and 3-hydroxy-2-pyridone ligands in the presence of Cs2CO3 as base. Upon mixing of different macrocycles, reversible metal ...

Fluorescent dihydroxypyridine ligands were prepared by attaching pyrene-, dansyl-, and methoxycoumarin-fluorophores via dimethyleneamine linkers. The reaction of these ligands with [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 or [(C6H5CH2NMe2H)RuCl2]2Cl2 resulted in the formation o ...

Organometallic half-sandwich complexes based on ruthenium with aminomethyl-substituted 3-hydroxy-2-pyridone ligands exist in aqueous solution as monomeric O,O′-chelate complexes or trimeric metallamacrocycles depending upon the pH. We hypothesized that adm ...

The exchange reaction of the trinuclear macrocycles [(C6H3iPr3)Ru(C5H3NO2)]3 (AAA) and [(cymene)Ru(C5H3NO2)]3 (BBB) has been studied. It was found that the equilibration proceeds in two steps and that the final mixture is completely dominated by the mixed- ...

The dinuclear complexes [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 and [(cyclopentadienyl)MCl2]2 (M = Ru, Rh, Ir) are important starting materials in organometallic chemistry. The standard synthesis of these complexes involves heating of an alcoholic solution of RuIII, RhIII, or ...
