Psychotic symptoms are among the most debilitating and challenging presentations of severe psychiatric diseases, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and bipolar disorder. A pathophysiological understanding of intrinsic brain activity underlying psychos ...

Objective: Structure-function coupling remains largely unknown in brain disorders. We studied this coupling during interictal epileptic discharges (IEDs), using graph signal processing in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). ...

The emerging field of graph signal processing (GSP) allows one to transpose classical signal processing operations (e.g., filtering) to signals on graphs. The GSP framework is generally built upon the graph Laplacian, which plays a crucial role in studying ...

Aesthetic highlight detection is a challenge for understanding affective processes underlying emotional movie experience. Aesthetic highlights in movies are scenes with aesthetic values and attributes in terms of form and content. Deep understanding of hum ...

The corpus callosum is the largest white matter pathway connecting homologous structures of the two cerebral hemispheres. Remarkably, children and adults with developmental absence of the corpus callosum (callosal dysgenesis, CD) show typical interhemisphe ...

We introduce a family of real and complex wavelet bases of

L _{ 2 }

(\mathbb{R} ^{ 2 }

) that are directly linked to the Laplace and Riesz operators. The crucial point is that the family is closed with respect to the Riesz transform which maps a re ...

Background: Adaptive recovery from stress promotes healthy cognitive affective functioning, whereas maladaptive recovery is linked to poor psychological outcomes. Neural regions, like the anterior cingulate and hippocampus, play critical roles in psychosoc ...

Aim: Adolescents born very preterm (VPT;

Film functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has gained tremendous popularity in many areas of neuroscience. However, affective neuroscience remains somewhat behind in embracing this approach, even though films lend themselves to study how brain funct ...

Dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) derived from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging sheds light onto moment-to-moment reconfigurations of large-scale functional brain networks. Due to computational limits, connectivity is typically compu ...

This paper introduces MNE-RT, a Python package designed for real-time neural feature extraction from magne-toencephalography (MEG) and electroencephalography (EEG) signals in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems. The package incorporates efficient algori ...

The brain is an assembly of neuronal populations interconnected by structural pathways. Brain activity is expressed on and constrained by this substrate. Therefore, statistical dependencies between functional signals in directly connected areas can be expe ...

We discuss a novel sampling theorem on the sphere developed by McEwen & Wiaux recently through an association between the sphere and the torus. To represent a band-limited signal exactly, this new sampling theorem requires less than half the number of samp ...

Source localization from EEG surface measurements is an important problem in neuro-imaging. We propose a new mathematical framework to estimate the parameters of a multidipole source model. To that aim, we perform 2-D analytic sensing in multiple planes. T ...

We present multiresolution spaces of complex rotation-covariant functions, deployed on the 2-D hexagonal lattice. The designed wavelets, which are complex-valued, provide an important phase information for image analysis, which is missing in the discrete w ...

The neuroimaging community heavily relies on statistical inference to explain measured brain activity given the experimental paradigm. Undeniably, this method has led to many results, but it is limited by the richness of the generative models that are depl ...

We introduce a new semi-orthogonal complex wavelet basis of L-2(R-2). The basis functions are associated to the complex gradient-Laplace operator, which plays a central role in image processing. We define analytically a single-generator wavelet that is shi ...

During the monitoring of pharmacoresistant epilepsy patients prior to surgery, interictal epileptic discharges (IEDs) are analyzed to locate possible sources of epileptic activity. In order to compensate low spatial resolution of EEG, simultaneous EEG-fMRI ...

A sampling theorem on the sphere has been developed recently, requiring half as many samples as alternative equiangular sampling theorems on the sphere. A reduction by a factor of two in the number of samples required to represent a band-limited signal on ...
