A series of Cu(diimine)(X-sal)(NO3) complexes, where the diimine is either 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and X-sal is a monoanionic halogenated salicylaldehyde (X = Cl, Br, I, or H), have been synthesized and characterized by elementa ...

Uranium nitride compounds are important molecular analogues of uranium nitride materials such as UN and UN2 which are effective catalysts in the Haber-Bosch synthesis of ammonia, but the synthesis of molecular nitrides remains a challenge and studies of th ...

The enantiopure Schiff bases (R or S)-N-1-( phenyl)ethyl-2,4-X-1,X2(-)salicylaldimine (X-1, X-2 = Cl, Br, I) coordinate to copper(II) and provide pseudotetrahedral bis[(S or R)-N-1-(phenyl)ethyl-(2,4-X-1,X-2-salicylaldiminato.2N,O)]-./.-Cu(II) (kappa N-2,O ...

The isomerization dynamics of five labile octahedral Co(II) compounds have been investigated by variable temperature and pressure 1H and 19F NMR spectroscopy in dichloromethane solution. The X-ray crystal structure of the two tris-chelates, [Co(HFA)2bpic] ...

Metastable-state photoacids (mPAHs) are chemical species whose photo-activated state is long-lived enough to allow for proton diffusion. Liao's photoacid (1) represents the archetype of mPAHs, and is being widely used on account of its unique capability to ...

The role of alkali promoters in N-2 cleavage by metal complexes remains poorly understood despite its relevance to the industrial production of ammonia from N-2. Here we report a series of alkali bound-oxo-bridged diuranium(iii) complexes that provide a un ...

Novel supramolecular gelators based on quinoline-indolin-2-one structure were synthesized. These gelators formed stable organogels in a mixture of DMSO/H2O (1:1). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), IR and NMR spectroscopies, and rheological measuremen ...

Phenyl-imidazole-based ligands with various substitution patterns have been used as the main ligand for heteroleptic bis-cyclometalated Iridium complexes. Two series of complexes have been prepared and their photophysical and electrochemical properties wer ...

Phosphinoylated calixarenes feature high coordination ability toward f elements and a great potentiality toward actinide/rare earth separation. Here, we report three characteristic properties of a tetra-phosphinoylated p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene, B(4)bL(4) ...

Ruthenium(II) complexes with a three-legged piano-stool structure based on an arene ring, an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-carbene ligand with a peracetylated glucose moiety and two chlorides or one bidentate ligand, were prepared and characterized by spect ...

Here we have explored the ability of Schiff bases to act as electron reservoirs and to enable the multi-electron reduction of small molecules by lanthanide complexes. We report the reductive chemistry of the Ln(iii) complexes of the tripodal heptadentate S ...

A series of homologous bis-cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes Ir(2,4-di-X-phenyl-pyridine)2(picolinate) (X = H, F, Cl, Br) HIrPic, FIrPic, ClIrPic, and BrIrPic has been synthesized and characterized by NMR, X-ray crystallography, UV–vis absorption and e ...

Ru(II) and Os(II) p-cymene dichloride complexes with either a pta (1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decane) or [pta-Me]Cl ligand which exhibit anticancer activity were prepd. and characterized by 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Thr ...

An improved synthesis of 2-(2′-benzothiazole)- and 2-(2′-benzoxazole)-8-hydroxyquinoline ligands that combine a tridentate N,N,O-chelating unit for metal binding and extended chromophore for light harvesting is developed. The 2-(2′-benzoxazole)-8-hydroxyqu ...

To investigate the effect of different halogen substituents and leaving groups and the flexibility of ligands on the anticancer activity of copper complexes, sixteen copper(ii) complexes with eight different tridentate Schiff-base ligands containing pyridi ...

Molecular uranium nitride complexes were prepared to relate their small molecule reactivity to the nature of the U & xe001;N & xe001;U bonding imposed by the supporting ligand. The U4+-U4+ nitride complexes, [NBu4][{(((BuO)-Bu-t)(3)SiO)(3)U}(2)(mu-N)], [NB ...

Herein we report a series of charged iridium complexes emitting from near-UV to red using carbene-based (NC)-C-boolean AND: ancillary ligands. Synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical properties of this series are described in detail together with X-ra ...

New charged cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes Ir(ppy)2(L) [ppy = 2-phenylpyridine; L = bis(pyrazol-1-yl)methane (for 1); L = bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methane (for 2)] were synthesized and their electrochemical and photophysical properties st ...

Thorium nitrides are likely intermediates in the reported cleavage and functionalization of dinitrogen by molecular thorium complexes and are attractive compounds for the study of multiple bond formation in f-element chemistry, but only one example of thor ...

A facile synthesis of benzothiazole- and benzoxazole-substituted pyridine-2-carboxylic acids has been developed. These ligands form mononuclear nine-coordinate complexes [Ln(κ3-ligand)2(κ1-ligand)(H2O)2] with light and heavy trivalent lanthanides, as estab ...
