In plants, light direction is perceived by the phototropin photoreceptors, which trigger directional growth responses known as phototropism. The formation of a phototropin activation gradient across a photosensitive organ initiates this response. However, ...

In this paper we present some of the challenges faced when upscaling optical microstructures from a lab scale 1x1 cm sized proof of concept sample to a square meter sized object that can be installed in a building. The optical microstructure in question is ...

A thermochromic vanadium dioxide (VO2) based absorber coating is proposed. The optical response of the multilayered absorber is first simulated, then, the spectral reflectance of the deposited absorber is measured. The determined solar absorptance and ther ...

The invention relates to a method for hardening a coating of a solar collector element, said element including a conductive material or a conductive layer. The invention is characterised in that the coating is hardened by induction heating. ...

In this work we report a new class of ultra-thin film devices based on n-n van der Waals (vdW) heteroj unctions of MoS2 and VO2, which show remarkable tunable characteristics. The favorable band alignment combined with the sharp and clean vdW interface det ...

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems are increasingly used to support the rapid growth in mobile traffic. Their ability of multiplying the data capacity is especially suitable in 4G-5G wireless railway communications. However, MIMO efficiency is l ...

Solar cooker with a core comprising at least one insulating wall and at least one window having a glazing on which is deposited a low-e coating, characterized by the fact that said window(s) is/are oriented along several directions ...

Single- or multilayered coating, such as a selective solar absorber coating or a coating being part of an integrated electronic circuit, comprising one or more layers containing germanium (Ge) doped VO2+x, where -0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.1. ...
