Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an established technique to study in vivo neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). To avoid errors on MRI data organization and automated processing, a standard called Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) h ...

Purpose: We present a 3-dimensional patient-specific eye model from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for proton therapy treatment planning of uveal melanoma (UM). During MRI acquisition of UM patients, the point fixation can be difficult and, together with ...

This paper presents a new and original variational framework for atlas-based segmentation. The proposed framework integrates both the active contour framework, and the dense deformation fields of optical flow framework. This framework is quite general and ...

Connectivity analysis on diffusion MRI data of the whole- brain suffers from distortions caused by the standard echo- planar imaging acquisition strategies. These images show characteristic geometrical deformations and signal destruction that are an import ...

This paper presents automated segmentation of structures in the Head and Neck (H&N) region, using an active contour-based joint registration and segmentation model. A new atlas selection strategy is also used. Segmentation is performed based on the dense ...

Background and objective: Compared to the conventional magnetization-prepared rapid gradient-echo imaging (MPRAGE) MRI sequence, the specialized magnetization prepared 2 rapid acquisition gradient echoes (MP2RAGE) shows a higher brain tissue and lesion con ...

A commonly adopted approach to carry out detection tasks in medical imaging is to rely on an initial segmentation. However, this approach strongly depends on voxel-wise annotations which are repetitive and time-consuming to draw for medical experts. An int ...

This paper is a joint effort between five institutions that introduces several novel similarity measures and combines them to carry out a multimodal segmentation evaluation. The new similarity measures proposed are based on the location and the intensity v ...

Objectives In multiple sclerosis (MS), the presence of a paramagnetic rim at the edge of non-gadolinium-enhancing lesions indicates perilesional chronic inflammation. Patients featuring a higher paramagnetic rim lesion burden tend to have more aggressive d ...

We present a segmentation method for fetal brain tissues of T2w MR images, based on the well known Expectation Maximization Markov Random Field (EM- MRF) scheme. Our main contribution is an intensity model composed of 7 Gaussian distribution designed to de ...
