Integral equation (IE) formulations.solved by the Method of Moments (MoM) have been used successfully to address a vast variety of electromagnetic problems. Printed circuits embedded partially or totally in laterally bounded multilayered media, such as micr ...

Cosmic microwave background (CMB) studies require observations in several frequency bands simultaneously. For example, the detection of clusters of remote galaxies can be performed by comparing CMB photon fluxes at different frequencies, using the spectral ...

This paper describes an efficient algorithm to predict the RF gas breakdown power threshold in microwave devices with complex geometries. The two necessary calculations when investigating such a phenomenon have been performed: on the one hand, the computat ...

A dual-polarized system fully implemented in substrate integrated technology is presented. It comprises an Orthomode Transducer (OMT) with planar excitation schemes for both orthogonal TE10 and TE01 modes and a dual-polarized horn antenna. The whole struct ...

This work presents a new theory of multipactor under multi-carrier signals for parallel-plate geometries. It is the generalization of the non-stationary multipactor theory for single-carrier signals1. It is valid for multicarrier signals with an arbitrary ...

In this paper, propagation losses effects present in rectangular waveguide structures are rigorously considered. For this purpose, a new formulation based on the perturbation of the boundary conditions on the metallic walls of the waveguides combined with ...

Integral Equation (IE) formulation solved by Method of Moments may be used efficiently to address the problem of quasi-waveguide structures, i.e. structures consisting of a main waveguide with a constant cross section that may bear an arbitrary number of p ...

The accurate and efficient sampling of scattering parameters is addressed. A popular sampling technique is the uniform sampling combined with a straight-line interpolation for representing the continuous variation of the observable. However, this sampling ...

This study gives a full treatment of the network characterisation of multi-port planar circuits embedded in shielded stratified media with an integrated approach to lumped ports and wave ports. The details of the mathematical formulation for the retrieval ...

This communication addresses the problem of any simulation tool: the accurate and efficient sampling of a physical observable with respect to a parameter. A popular sampling technique is the uniform sampling combined with a straight-line interpolation for ...

This paper analyzes the microwave gas discharge within elliptical waveguides excited by the fundamental mode. The Rayleigh-Ritz method has been applied to solve the continuity equation. The eigenvalue problem defined by the breakdown condition has been sol ...

A complete and automatized strategy has been developed to derive the Vector and Scalar Potential Green’s Functions (GFs) of planar multilayered structures that include conductive sheets. The propagator matrix technique is enhanced to include conductive she ...

Highly accurate and efficient cubatures based on the double exponential quadrature rules are presented for the computation of weakly singular integrals arising in Galerkin mixed potential integral equation formulations. Due to their unique ability to handl ...

The saturation stage of a multipactor discharge is considered of interest, since it can guide towards a criterion to assess the multipactor onset. The electron cloud under multipactor regime within a parallel-plate waveguide is modeled by a thin continuous ...

The accurate consideration of propagation losses in arbitrarily shaped waveguide-based structures is studied in this paper. For such a purpose, a software tool based on the perturbation of the boundary conditions on the waveguide metallic walls and on the ...

This paper presents the details of development and computer implementation of Combined Field Integral Equation (CFIE) technique used in the framework of Method of Moments to address the problem of simulating fine slots appearing in grounded screens embedde ...

This paper demonstrates how an already developed finite element code for solving electromagnetic problems can be manipulated and simply extended so as to investigate complicated corona breakdowns. A safe criterion based on the eigenvalue analysis is used i ...

In this communication, the coupling matrix synthesis of dissipative microwave filters is analyzed and compared to the synthesis of lossless filters. A modified definition of the vector matrix product allows using the same synthesis procedure in both cases. ...

This paper presents a method for the analysis of planar multilayered waveguide-fed antennas. The method combines mixed-potential integral equations (for laterally open regions) and modal field integral equations (for laterally closed regions) with a seamle ...

This paper describes an algorithm to calculate a large number of roots of the cross-product of Bessel functions and of their first derivatives. The algorithm initially finds the roots of the zeroth order using an auxiliary function that exhibits the same r ...
