Nb1 - xTixNy thin films (with 0

The local structure of TiBC and amorphous carbon (a-C) nanocomposite films (TiBC/a-C) was correlated with their optical and electrical properties. TiBC/a-C films with increasing C content were deposited by magnetron co-sputtering from TiC:TiB2 (60: 40) and ...

Overheating is a common problem both with the use of active and passive solar energy in thermal solar energy systems and in highly glazed buildings, even in central European latitudes. In solar thermal collectors, the elevated temperatures occurring during ...

This study reports the photosensitizing effect/mechanism of FeOx under visible light irradiation and charge transfer to TiO2 on FeOx–TiO2 cosputtered film. The transients which were photo-induced by femtosecond laser pulses at 545 nm (25 fs) were identifie ...

Insight is provided in this study for the effect of the TiO2film densification/compactness on polyethy-lene (PE-TiO2) by sputtering TiO2at two very different energy levels. Uniform, adhesive low energy filmswere prepared by direct current magnetron sputter ...

The optical and electrical properties of Ru1-xTixO2 (0

Evidence is presented for radio-frequency plasma pretreatment enhancing the amount and adhesion of TiO2 sputtered on polyester (PES) and on polyethylene (PE) films. Pretreatment is necessary to attain a suitable TiO2 loading leading to an acceptable Escher ...

The electrical and optical properties of TaxSiyNz thin films deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering from individual Ta and Si targets were studied in order to investigate the effects of nitrogen and silicon contents on both properties and their correla ...

Co-sputtered TiO2-Cu polyester (TiO2-Cu-PES) under actinic light induced bacterial reduction of E. coli in the presence of O2 (air) and under anaerobic conditions. The bacterial inactivation/oxidation proceeds in the absence of O2 (air) probably due to the ...

The allotropic forms of carbon (amorphous and polycrystalline graphite, carbon black, fullerenes, nanotubes, graphene) exhibit a large variety of charge transport properties which have been stimulating fundamental and applied research for the development o ...

Titanium oxynitride coatings (TiNxO3,) are considered a promising material for applications in dental implantology due to their high corrosion resistance, their biocompatibility and their superior hardness. Using the sputtering technique, TiNxO3, films wit ...

The parameters of thermal evaporation and magnetron sputtering deposition were optimized for fabrication of vanadium dioxide thin films. The O2 partial pressure during film deposition is critical for obtaining a pure VO2 phase. Thermochromic V1−xWxO2 (x = ...

The first evidence for the synthesis of a uniform, adhesive polyethylene–FeOx (PE–FeOx) surface leading efficiently to bacterial inactivation is addressed in this study. PE was loaded with 0.04–0.08% Fe wt/wt PE after RF-plasma pretreatment was required to ...

Antibacterial robust, uniform TiO2-ZrO2 films on polyester (PES) under low intensity sunlight irradiation made up by equal amounts of TiO2 and ZrO2 exhibited a much higher bacterial inactivation kinetics compared to pure TiO2 or ZrO2. The TiO2-ZrO2 matrix ...

VO2 and W-doped VO2 thin films were prepared by Radio Frequency (RF) reactive magnetron sputtering using V-metal target. The amount of W doping was quantified by Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS). The optical constants of VO2 and V1-xWxO2 films ...

This study reports the details Escherichia coli inactivation kinetics on TiON and TiON-Ag films sputtered on polyester by direct current reactive magnetron sputtering (DC) and pulsed magnetron sputtering (DCP) in an Ar/N2 /O2 atmosphere. The use of TiON le ...

The present paper reports on an experimental investigation of the structural, electrical and optical properties of Ru rich Ru1-xTixO2 thin films. Rutile single-phaseRu(1-x)Ti(x)O(2) thin films have been deposited by reactive hybrid High-power impulse magne ...

The structural and electronic properties of fcc-TaN/SiNx nanocomposite thin films deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering have been investigated as function of the N and Si contents. Our studies have been mainly focused on three different types of nanoc ...
