Perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) based on three-dimensional (3D) polycrystalline perovskites suffer from ion migration, which causes overshoot of luminance over time during operation and reduces its operational lifetime. Here, we demonstrate 3D/2D ...

Hybrid perovskite solar cells have attracted tremendous interest in the photovoltaic community. Despite their high defect tolerance, reducing the trap density by material engineering and surface modification is still critical to further boost performance. ...

We report for the first time on a hole conductor-free mesoscopic methylammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) perovskite/TiO2 heterojunction solar cell, produced by deposition of perovskite nanoparticles from a solution of CH3NH3I and PbI2 in gamma-butyrolactone on a 400 nm, thick film of TiO2 (anatase) nanosheets exposing (001) facets. A gold film was evaporated on top of the CH3NH3PbI3 as a back contact. Importantly, the CH3NH3PbI3 nanoparticles assume here simultaneously the roles of both light harvester and

Herein, Cu(II)Pcs and Ni(II)Pcs peripherally tetra-functionalized with 5-hexylthiophene (HT), 5-hexyl-2,2 '-bithiophene (HBT), and tertbutyl groups (TB) are readily synthesized and employed as hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in mixed-ion perovskite ([FA ...

Perovskite solar cells with mesoporous TiO2 electron transport layers have previously reached >22 % efficiency at the laboratory scale (

We employ time-dependent density functional theory to study the optical properties of a squaraine sensitized TiO2 system, as a model for the corresponding dye-sensitized solar cell. The all-organic squaraine dye is particularly promising for light absorpti ...

According to the concepts of attribute axis and attribute coordinate system, porphine and 11 kinds of bridge carbon substituted porphyrins as donors and 9 common acceptors A-I have been designed and calculated at the density functional B3LYP level. The sub ...

Compositional engineering of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite allows for improved optoelectrical properties, however, phase segregation occurs during crystal nucleation and limits perovskite solar cell device performance. Herein, we show that by a ...

While perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have recently experienced a rapid rise in power conversion efficiency (PCE), the prevailing PSCs still contain nondesirable defects in the interior and interface of the perovskite layer, which limits further enhancement ...

The teachings herein relate to hole transport compounds containing cyclobutyl moieties that can be made into organic hole conductors and hole transport materials. Furthermore, optoelectronic and photoelectrochemical devices, in particular photovoltaic devi ...

Low temperature processing of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) is crucial to enable commercialization with low-cost, plastic substrates. Prior studies have focused on mechanical compression of premade particles on plastic or glass substrates, however, this ...

Passivation approaches of perovskite surface are key to improve the light stability of perovskite solar cells. However, a passivation strategy is still required to enhance the durability of the perovskite layer. Here, a promising passivation concept is dem ...

A photosensitizer complex of formulae (Ia) MX3Lt or (Ib) MXYLt in which M is a transition metal selected from ruthenium, osmium, iron, rhenium and technetium, preferably ruthenium or osmium; each X is a co-ligand independently selected from NCS,Cl,Br,I,CN,NCO, H2O, NCN2-; pyridine unsubstituted or substituted by at least one group selected from vinyl, primary, secondary or tertiary amine, OH and C1-30 alkyl, preferably NCS-; and Lt is a tridentate ligand comprising heterocycles such as pyridine, thiophene,

The methodology adopted for the preparation of perovskites plays a critical role in achieving high efficiency. Toward this direction, various strategies have been adopted to achieve a rational control over the growth of the perovskite layer for the fabrica ...

A set of novel hole-transporting materials (HTMs) based on pi-extension through carbazole units was designed and synthesized via a facile synthetic procedure. The impact of isomeric structural linking on their optical, thermal, electrophysical, and photovo ...

Metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) are currently emerging as alternative hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the lack of systematic structure/photovoltaic properties investigations still hampers the rational design of M ...

A polymerized ionic liquid electrolyte and platinum-free counter electrode are employed for solid-state DSSCs. We are able to prepare a thin polymer electrolyte layer on nanocrystalline TiO2 in order to reduce the cell resistance. In addition, an electron ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are among the most promising photovoltaic technologies owing to their exceptional optoelectronic properties 1,2 . However, the lower efficiency, poor stability and reproducibility issues of large-area PSCs compared with labora ...

A new Ru(II) complex, Bu4N [ruthenium (4-carboxylic acid-4'-carboxylate-2,2'-bipyridine)(4,4'-di(2-(3,6-dimethoxyphenyl)ethenyl)-2,2'-bipyridine)(NCS)2] (N945H), was synthesized and characterized by anal., spectroscopic, and electrochem. techniques. The ab ...
