Compliance with the established exposure limits for the electric field (E-field) induced in the human brain due to low-frequency magnetic field (B-field) induction is demonstrated by numerical dosimetry. The objective of this study is to investigate the de ...

Integral equation (IE) formulations.solved by the Method of Moments (MoM) have been used successfully to address a vast variety of electromagnetic problems. Printed circuits embedded partially or totally in laterally bounded multilayered media, such as micr ...

Hypersingular 4-D integrals, arising in the Galerkin discretization of surface integral equation formulations, are computed by means of the direct evaluation method. The proposed scheme extends the basic idea of the singularity cancellation methods, usuall ...

Eine dynamische Theorie des Vektorpotentials fûr dreidimensionale M ikrostrip-strukturen une. théorie dynamique du potentier vecteur pour structures tridimensionelles en microruban Exact integral expressions for the electromagnetic field, created by an horizontal electric dipole on microstrip, have been obtained by using a magnetic vector potential. These expressions cannot be evaluated analytically for the case of the near field. To deal with ihe presence of singularities and the absence of uniform converg

This letter proposes the application of a hybrid numerical technique to two cases of interest in the space business: the reallocation of radiators and scatters on satellite platforms; and the analysis of antennas for mobile communications. It is based on t ...

The method of moments (MOM), as introduced by R. F. Harrington more than 50 years ago, is reviewed in the context of the classic potential integral equation (PIE) formulations applied to both electrostatic (part 1) and electrodynamic, or full-wave, problem ...

The surface polariton properties of TM or TE plane wave scattered by a coated cylinder are investigated in this paper. The coated cylinder (whose outer radius is much smaller than the wavelength) is assumed to be electrically small and low dissipative. Ana ...

Cosmic microwave background (CMB) studies require observations in several frequency bands simultaneously. For example, the detection of clusters of remote galaxies can be performed by comparing CMB photon fluxes at different frequencies, using the spectral ...

The paper reports on a graphical user interface developed in MATLAB to aid the visualization of the plane wave impinging from a lossless half-space onto a multilayer structure. Individual layers are assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic with electric permittivity (∊) and magnetic permeability (μ) taking arbitrary complex values. Double-positive, single-negative and double-negative media (real parts of ∊ and μ) as well as lossless, dissipative and amplifying media (imaginary parts of ∊ and μ) are allowed.

The optical dispersive prism is a well-studied element, which allows separating white light into its constituent spectral colors, and stands in nature as water droplets. In analogy to this definition, the acoustic dispersive prism should be an acoustic dev ...

It has been shown that acoustic waves with helical wavefronts can carry angular momentum, which can be transmitted towards a propagating medium. Such a wave field can be achieved by using a planar array of electroacoustic transducers, forming a given spati ...

A transmission-line acoustic metamaterial is an engineered, periodic arrangement of relatively small unit-cells, the acoustic properties of which can be manipulated to achieve anomalous physical behaviours. These exotic properties open the door to practica ...

In this paper, the mutual coupling between a mobile device antenna and a closely integrated miniature moving-coil speaker is investigated. The analysis focuses on the speaker radio-frequency harmonic resonance characteristics and the antenna radiation effi ...

The plane wave scattering and absorption by finite and infinite gratings of free-space standing infinitely long graphene strips are studied in the THz range. A novel numerical approach, based on graphene surface impedance, hyper-singular integral equations ...

A design procedure for spherical lens antennas is described. A particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is coupled to a mode matching technique based on spherical wave expansion to analyze the lens antennas. The proposed methodology is applied to three ...

A dual-polarized system fully implemented in substrate integrated technology is presented. It comprises an Orthomode Transducer (OMT) with planar excitation schemes for both orthogonal TE10 and TE01 modes and a dual-polarized horn antenna. The whole struct ...

In this paper we discuss a number of UHF/RFID tag designs including the hybrid loop (Chen and Hsu, International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, Korea, Vol. 3, 2005, 1045-1048), dual crossed-dipoles, the dual crossed-dipoles utilizing an inductively ...

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a well-established treatment for Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonia. It has also been successfully applied to treat various other neurological and psychiatric conditions including depression and obsessive-com ...

Integral Equation (IE) formulation solved by Method of Moments may be used efficiently to address the problem of quasi-waveguide structures, i.e. structures consisting of a main waveguide with a constant cross section that may bear an arbitrary number of p ...
