Charge de cours pour une Unité d'Enseignement ENAC intitulée "Lectures du paysage par le biais de l'image et de l'art" avec Robert Ireland de 2006 à 2008. Responsable d'une nouvelle Unité d'Enseignement ENAC sur "les murs de soutènement urbains", printemps 2009 et 2010, avec O. Burdet, A. Parriaux, J-L. Moret. Participation ponctuelle en 2011, 2013 et 2014, pour l'UE-ENAC "Learning from vernacular", du professeur Pierre Frey sur la pierre et les traces de la main dans l'architecture vernaculaire. Recherche personnelle en cours sur les socles à la Renaissance italienne et française, en lien avec les professeurs Volker Hoffmann (Würzburg) et Roberto Gargiani (EPFL). Vault (architecture)

In architecture, a vault (French voûte, from Italian volta) is a self-supporting arched form, usually of stone or brick, serving to cover a space with a ceiling or roof. As in building an arch, a temporary support is needed while rings of voussoirs are constructed and the rings placed in position. Until the topmost voussoir, the keystone, is positioned, the vault is not self-supporting. Where timber is easily obtained, this temporary support is provided by centering consisting of a framed truss with a semicircular or segmental head, which supports the voussoirs until the ring of the whole arch is completed.

Dome

A dome () is an architectural element similar to the hollow upper half of a sphere. There is significant overlap with the term cupola, which may also refer to a dome or a structure on top of a dome. The precise definition of a dome has been a matter of controversy and there are a wide variety of forms and specialized terms to describe them. A dome can rest directly upon a rotunda wall, a drum, or a system of squinches or pendentives used to accommodate the transition in shape from a rectangular or square space to the round or polygonal base of the dome.

Muqarnas

Muqarnas (مقرنص; مقرنس, or آهوپای), also known in Iberian architecture as Mocárabe, is a form of ornamented vaulting in Islamic architecture. It is the archetypal form of Islamic architecture, integral to the vernacular of Islamic buildings. It was most likely first developed in eleventh-century Iraq, though the earliest preserved examples are also found outside this region. The muqarnas structure originated from the squinch.

Geometric modeling

NOTOC Geometric modeling is a branch of applied mathematics and computational geometry that studies methods and algorithms for the mathematical description of shapes. The shapes studied in geometric modeling are mostly two- or three-dimensional (solid figures), although many of its tools and principles can be applied to sets of any finite dimension. Today most geometric modeling is done with computers and for computer-based applications. Two-dimensional models are important in computer typography and technical drawing.
