This lecture explains how to derive ideal high pass and band pass filters from the ideal low pass filter. The high pass filter preserves frequencies from omega c to pi and its response is symmetric. The band pass filter preserves frequencies in a band centered around omega 0 and 2 omega c wide, obtained by modulating a prototype low pass filter with a cosine function.
