CS-202: Computer systems

Summary

This course will teach operating systems and networks in an integrated fashion,emphasising the fundamental concepts and techniques that make their interaction possible/practical. Core lectures will be coupled with C programming lectures and assignments for hands-on experience.

Jean-Cédric Chappelier

Jean-Cédric Chappelier is currently senior researcher and lecturer in Computational Linguistics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). He holds an Ms.Sci. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris (France).

Aikaterini Argyraki

I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2007 from Stanford University. As a graduate student, I was part of David Cheriton's Distributed Systems Group. I was also among the first employees of Arista Networks. I joined EPFL as a researcher in 2007, and became an assistant professor in 2011.

Sanidhya Kashyap

Sanidhya Kashyap is a systems researcher and an assistant professor at the EPFL School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC). His research focuses on designing systems software that are performant and robust for heterogeneous hardware. He is broadly interested in the area of systems with a particular focus on operating systems, databases, concurrency, scheduling, networks, data analytics, and software testing (fuzzing).
