Edouard André Pierre Marie GodineauTeaching & PhD Courses Sustainable chemistry and engineering in Industry CH-407 In the course given by experts from the Swiss Chemical industry, the students will be introduced in key concepts of sustainable chemistry and chemical engineering of industrial relevance. They will be able to learn from real hands-on problems and to better understand the challenges faced in industry
Kumar Varoon AgrawalExpertise
Prof. Kumar Varoon Agrawal leads research at EPFL on advanced membrane materials and processes for energy-efficient molecular separations. His work focuses on atomically thin porous graphene film, and two-dimensional zeolite & metal–organic framework membranes that enable selective transport of gases and ions, with applications in carbon capture, hydrogen purification, ammonia separation, and resource recovery. By combining materials chemistry, nanofluidics, transport phenomena, atomistic simulati

Ana Catarina Gouveia BrazTeaching & PhD Courses Process development ChE-459 Through a project, this course will introduce the critical steps in developing a chemical process in the context of industry decarbonisation, from the lab to industrial scale.
Suong NguyenSu was born and raised in Da Nang, Vietnam. She moved to the United States in 2013 to pursue her undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi. In 2022, she completed her PhD in Organic Chemistry in the laboratory of Prof. Robert Knowles at Princeton University. For her dissertation, she developed light-driven methods to (1) construct aliphatic C&N bonds through olefin hydroamidation, (2) convert low-value biomass into high-value chemical feedstocks, (3) chemically recycle plastic wastes and develo
Dominique BonvinDominique Bonvin is Professor and Director of the Automatic Control Laboratory of EPFL. He received his Diploma in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zürich, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He worked in the field of process control for the Sandoz Corporation in Basel and with the Systems Engineering Group of ETH Zürich. He joined the EPFL in 1989, where his current research interests include modeling, control and optimization of dynamic systems. He served as Director of the Automatic Control Laboratory for the periods 1993-97, 2003-2007 and again since 2012, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department in 1995-97 and Dean of Bachelor and Master Studies at EPFL for the period 2004-2011.
