Emma Elizabeth TolleyI studied the universe at the smallest scales at the Large Hadron Collider, now we're getting ready to study it at the largest scales with the Square Kilometer Array. My research focuses on developing high-performance computing and new data science techniques to image and analyse the radio sky.

Our research focuses on building secure and privacy-preserving systems. We aim to develop tools and methodologies to help engineers embedding strong security and privacy guarantees in their designs, as well as techniques that help them to systematically quantifying the information that an adversary can infer from data she may have access to.More information about our activities here: https://spring.epfl.ch/

ENTERPRISE FOR SOCIETY (E4S) is a joint center of EPFL, UNIL and IMD dedicated to empowering society to tackle its most pressing challenges. Action is articulated around research (support for inter-disciplinary projects), education (joint Master in Sustainable Management and Technology between EPFL, UNIL and IMD) and activation (strong outreach through action labs, community meet-ups and the flagship event Showcase). Sangwoo KimSangwoo Kim is set to join EPFL as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in September 2023. Prior to his appointment at EPFL, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned his graduate degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his research delved into the relationships between statistics, geometry, and mechanical states in cellular matters. Currently, his research focus on fundamental understanding of biological and living systems, as well as the study of soft and active matter employing principles from mechanics and physics. His research interests encompass embryonic development, tissue morphogenesis, structure and mechanics of soft materials, inherent structure of amorphous materials, and non-equilibrium dynamics of active matter.
